moreThe report elaborates on the comprehensive approach as a model of solution to the Cyprus dispute and argues that this current model lacks necessary elements to achieve the desired goal. It is argued in the report that the curent function of the 'Comprehensive solution model' helps to camouflage pro-status quo actions of the related parties. For this reason the authors suggested that 'piecemeal approach' to be used to create an appropriate ground on which the Cyprus dispute can be resolved. To this end authors emphasize the importance of 'small stepts' and suggested a number of 'immediate goodwill gestures' as the initial steps towards creating motivation in both sides to promote a comprehensive solution on the island.
