This paper seeks to highlight underlying issues of the tourism system that
have led to tourism extremes of too much or too little tourism. Five phases
are recognized that reflect different ways of dealing with too much
tourism over time, after which the impact of a sudden lack of tourism is
investigated in light of future renewal processes. This discussion
highlights the remarkable capacity of the tourism industry to adjust to
rapidly changing circumstances and crises, even when these cause
anguish to individuals and within societies at large. The paper thus
seeks to contextualize the current discussions regarding the
transformation of tourism post COVID-19. It highlights the complexity of
changing a tourism that multiple stakeholders depend on or have
grown accustomed to. To come to a more balanced tourism, it is
necessary to not only come up with alternative visions and strategies,
but also to engage with the political economy nature of tourism
development. A future research agenda should therefore also discuss
facets of entangled power, social exclusion, inequalities and class
differences to come to new reference points of what actually
constitutes a more inclusive tourism success.

By 1940, residents of Guadalajara faced overwhelming levels of popula-tion growth leading to challenges in infrastructure and cultural change. For Guadalajarans, this meant dealing with urgent issues of hygiene and health with the associated regulation of public spaces, including churches. Correspondence between the people of Guadalajara and the city govern-ment reveals that religious adherents in Guadalajara used the language of liberal reform – particularly that of hygiene and anticlericalism – in their own local disputes. Specifically, Catholics and Protestants used  hygiene and anticlericalism to mobilize city officials on their behalf in inter- and intra- congregational disputes. While the state used hygiene to order the physical world and the citizenry, such language also aided religious  attempts to order the spiritual world. The discourse of hygiene and sani-tation was not exclusive to the state, but was instead co-opted by religious groups. The religious legitimated the state through their use of reform language while simultaneously turning the tools of secularism toward re-ligious ends.

Résumé Cet article, avant tout méthodologique, explore la dispersion spatiale des lieux d’activité (étude et travail) fréquentés au quotidien par des individus au regard de leurs caractéristiques sociodémographiques et de leur lieu de résidence, dans l’agglomération de São Paulo. L’étude repose sur l’exploitation de données d’enquêtes sur les systèmes de mobilités réalisées auprès d’un échantillon de ménages. L’accent est mis sur la démarche qui fait intervenir une série d’analyses centrographiques que l’on combine dans un deuxième temps à une analyse typologique. Nous montrons l’intérêt de recourir à ces outils pour appréhender et visualiser les inégalités d’accès aux ressources urbaines en lien avec le cycle de vie des individus, la hiérarchie sociale et le lieu de résidence.

The presence of a Roman theatre in the heart of Lisbon, capital of Portugal, has brought up many questions over time and a not always peaceful coexistence. The excavations carried out between 1964 and 1967 allowed the identification of the roman monument, with an urban program which comprehended the demolition of seven buildings. Since then, the archaeological site has been a negative mark in the city´s urban frame. The creation of a museum devoted to the monument in 2001, tried to reverse this situation. The archaeological interventions carried out inside the museum, between 2001 and 2011, allowed to recognize more about the history of this area, and other occupations were uncovered, assigned to the Second Iron Age. This intervention also revealed how the roman monument was constructed, and how its ambitious engineering system was developed from the south area of the theatre.
The museum reopening in 2015 presented a larger permanent exhibition with a more extensive diachrony, while contributing to a more dynamic presence in the heart of the old town and an open archaeological site accessible to all. However, a more complete understanding about the roman monument can only made slowly, as new archaeological interventions are carried out, mostly through the urban renovation
felt in recent years and its new data. Thus, slowly, this enormous puzzle of knowledge witch is the Roman theatre of Felicitas Iulia Olisipo is being built.

Collaborative strategic decision making has to be widely informed, communicated and knowledge-based in order to innovate transformations toward local and global sustainability. It is unimaginable that this process could be effective without computer-aided information support, but the research indicates the utilization constraints within human capacities to recognize their usability and usefulness. These constraints seem to be even more challenging within the intensively transitional social contexts, such as Serbia. We argue that understanding the relationships between sustainability, governance, and planning in a specific social context has profound importance to gain usefulness of information support and to ensure its increasing utilization. The ability of cities to operate in global networks is usually measured according to their central position within multinational firm linkages. These measures are often used at the interurban level and neglect the intraurban processes of multiplier effects. The present study demonstrates that this affects the measurement of city centrality in business networks. Intraurban capabilities of interaction are considered in the measurement of interurban indices. The study is based on hypothetical networks at a micro level between long-range links and it mobilises processes as agglomeration economies, social capital developments and transaction costs. These processes at the intraurban level strengthen the efficiency of interurban linkages. It is suggested that the indices used to measure city centrality should include these local effects.
