With too many women these days, nothing can make them / keep them happy (Scientifically Proven, but Not Yet Explained ~ Perhaps We Don't Want to Know !?
Maybe the 'happy types' get snapped up young and stay married, but those in and out of the dating market seem very disgruntled indeed !! You either know what I'm talking about or you don't, so I'm not going to go into this here !! What I'm more interested in is exploring / elaborating on / challenging is male stereotypes, especially as seen through the eyes of stereotypical women, or through the eyes of the female congenitally disgruntled types (the ones that get laughed about in my circles) !! I mean, men are mocked and jeered at throughout the UK media (and Western World media), and men mainly ignore this as a weird ignorable fact of life, although I think this has a more powerful insidious effect then most of us might think, also letting in insane feminist propaganda by the back door !!

Sex and gender are two concepts that are often conflated in popular culture. However, those who experience dissonance between their assigned sex and
gender identity intimately understand the difference between sex, a biologically based distinction, and gender, a confluence of social and behavioral factors that contribute to understanding who one is as well as how one is seen by others. The gendered self-understanding and self-expression of 170 North Americans who self identified as gender nonconforming and who were assigned female at birth were explored using a transpersonal lens and thematic analysis. Data suggested a range and variety of gendered self-concepts that aligned across two broad themes: binary (female/woman; male/man) and non-binary (gender nonbinary; trans masculine) gender core identities. Themes of gendered self-concept, expression in behavior, dress style and appearance, and surgical body modification are discussed. These data support the application of transpersonal theory to transgender identity development, and they underscore the need for more research to test the validity of a new theoretical model of gender transcendence discussed herein.

This paper is developed from our study on sexual and reproductive rights of women with disability in Zimbabwe, The paper demonstrates how the social model, human rights-based and feminist approaches combine to come up with an overarching critical feminist disability studies lens (CFDSL) to guide studies on disability and feminism using sexual and reproductive rights of women with disabilities. The paper argues that gender and disability are not only complex, but very dynamic and fluid problems. They cannot be adequately investigated using the lens of one simple theory. Hence the need for theory triangulation to come up with some hybrid theory like CFDSL. From the perspectives of the CFDSL, therefore, this paper argues that women with disabilities are not any special case who should be simply pitied without access to human rights which are mandatory to every human being. They are different, but this difference does not imply denial of human rights, in this case sexual and reproductive rights.

This paper is derived from study on sexual and reproductive rights of women with disabilities in Zimbabwe. The paper explores the sexual and reproductive rights (SRR) and practices vis a vis women with disabilities in Zimbabwe. This is done with the view of drawing insights and policy recommendations on sexual and reproductive rights for women with disabilities in Zimbabwe. The study argues that there are serious gaps in SRR policies and their implementation for WWDs. While the availability of acceptable and supportive public policy and legislation indicates the beginning of a commendable process of services delivery to all stakeholders, this alone is not sufficient unless supported by effective systems and processes for effective delivery. Formulation and adoption of a policy or piece of legislation does not automatically translate to its implementation and/or enforcement. The study recommends change of mind-set for both the cultural environment and law with regards what is acceptable and legal sex; domestication and enforcement of international and regional disability laws; redesign of national laws to clearly address SRRs for WWDs; communication and advocacy of disability laws to the people. follow-ups and performance evaluation of families and communities on how they treat WWDs vis a vis their SRR; and involvement of WWDs in policy formulation.

This report provides the main analytical results of a survey distributed to gender minority students (i.e. transgender, non-binary, and gender non-conforming) in Irish higher education (Third-Level Programmes). The survey touched upon daily lived-experiences and issues of safety, the efficacy of administrative policies, obstacles (on- and off-campus), and sources of support. The aim of the report was to capture essential quantitative and qualitative information that could be used to better students' lives, increase the effectiveness of gender policies, and lobby for reform (regarding issues such as trans health care, third gender recognition, and hate crime laws).

We all respond differently to drugs. Questa comunicazione prende in esame i dati archeologici e antropologici provenienti da tombe arcaiche e classiche della Magna Grecia e della Sicilia, con l’obiettivo di mettere in luce i vari sistemi di rappresentazione di sesso e genere utilizzati nei rituali funerari delle colonie greche di questa zona. In primo luogo, sarà proposta una discussione sulla differenza fondamentale tra le nozioni di sesso (dato biologico) e genere (dato sociologico), e sui vari metodi in uso per identificare sesso e genere degli individui a partire dai contesti funerari. Saranno poi presi in esame i problemi sollevati dai casi in cui la determinazione del sesso e la rappresentazione del genere non concordano: ciò consentirà di riflettere sull’affidabilità dei dati presi in esame e sulle interpretazioni che è possibile proporre in merito al ruolo e alle strategie di distinzione sociale fra uomini e donne. Il fine di questo contributo è pertanto quello di proporre un’analisi delle modalità di messa in scena della differenza di genere nei contesti funerari della Magna Grecia e della Sicilia per tentare di chiarire il ruolo e la rappresentazione delle donne in questi contesti – ciò, tenendo ovviamente conto di altri fattori come quelli relativi all’età e allo status sociale degli individui. La parte finale della comunicazione sarà dedicata a una riflessione sulla possibilità di utilizzare i dati funerari, sia archeologici che antropologici, per valutare la possibile inclusione di individui di origine indigena (in particolar modo donne) nelle colonie greche.

The Japanese society is structures by dichotomies that narrate every day’s actions and interactions between people. The strict classification based on oppositions flows to separate people, spaces and emotions. Throughout these dichotomies race, class, hierarchy and gender are reproduced and organized. This paper presents a narrative of socio-cultural perceptions of homes for old people in Eswatini and their impact on indigenous and cultural norms of the old generation who are the beneficiaries of these homes. On top of establishing that there is a paucity of published research on elderly care and support in Eswatini, the paper argues that the majority of old people still reside in the rural areas where indigenous socio-cultural values are strongly held. It also establishes evidence of growing economic shocks and rising inequality, all heightening old-age vulnerabilities. The government has not sufficiently responded to the needs of older people even with the constant advantage of the low population of older people in Eswatini. The paper argues that Eswatini needs interventions that are culturally appropriate for successes to be recorded in all aspects of development. It advocates for the UNESCO (1995-2012) model that calls for interventions that are culturally appropriate, gender and age responsive, grounded in human rights and involving people affected by the interventions. There is need for a care and support system that permits the elderly to remain in their homes.

The past twenty-five years have witnessed a bourgeoning of studies on sexuality and gender in the pre-modern world. In particular, men and masculinities have received considerable attention. Building on the theoretical perspectives provided by feminism, Foucault, and cultural studies, the study of men and masculinities is increasingly theoretically inflected and sophisticated. Studies have encompassed questions pertaining to men of various social statuses, secular and ecclesiastical , as portrayed in historical, literary, philosophical, theological, and art historical sources among others. The conference, sponsored by the Toronto Renaissance and Reformation Colloquium (TRRC) seeks to locate the study of premodern men and masculinities in its current richness and complexity. Our plenary speakers will be two of the most important scholars in the area of medieval and early modern masculinities: Patricia Simons (U of Michigan) and Patricia Cullum (U of Huddersfield). Papers are invited on all areas of study across the premodern world (500 to 1650 CE), crossing Europe's religious and linguistic diversity, and encompassing its geographical breadth within Europe and beyond. Topics might include: concepts of virility, patriarchy, marriage fatherhood and procreative masculinities social and political perspectives medical and biological perceptions celibacy, chastity, continence monastic and clerical masculinity sexual function and dysfunction queer and non-binary masculinities typologies of premodern men masculinity in sports and athletics masculinity in literature and the arts etc. Proposals are invited for individual papers, panels, roundtables, and alternatives to traditional academic presentation models.
