Introduction Physical therapy (PT) is a high-volume service that treats musculoskeletal injury and improves return-to-duty rates. Our experience suggests that no-show (NS) and patient cancellation (PC) rates increase the further appointment that is booked in the future, impede access to care, and increase the healthcare delivery costs. Objective: The prevention of diseases and humanization of inpatients occurs with a greater integration of dentistry and medicine, aiming at a global treatment of patients. Therefore, this study aims to show the importance of the dentist, general practitioner, within an intensive care unit. Materials and methods: The methodology used was a questionnaire, in which some questions were asked to six doctors and six nurses responsible for the Intensive Care Units, of the four main hospitals in Passo Fundo / RS, seeking to evaluate the presence of the DC in the ICUs, the care performed, associated comorbidities and the degree of acceptance of dental professionals in these units. Result: The presence of a dental surgeon is not prioritized in two of the evaluated hospitals, in any of its three intensive care units, contrary to the legislation in force on April 18, 2013. Conclusion: It was concluded that it is of the utmost importance for the HC in the hospital network, aiming at an improvement in the clinical condition of inpatients, reduction of infections, reduction of medication and number of beds, attenuating the index of oral pathogens due to poor hygiene, reducing hospital costs and showing that it is necessary to insert the DC in the ICU multiprofessional team.

The community's decision in using health services is the most important thing for the hospital. This shows that the hospital is able to provide services according to the wants and needs of the community. The phenomenon of health services provided by a number of hospitals in Medan City is currently not fully oriented towards patient satisfaction, so that many Medan people prefer to seek treatment abroad such as Penang Hospital, Malaysia, because they are considered to be able to provide much better service. The purpose of this research is to find out effect of hospital facilities and doctor services on decision of people in Medan City going to Penang Hospital, Malaysia. The type of research used is quantitative analytic, with a cross sectional approach. The research was conducted in Medan City from October 2019 to July 2020. The population in this study were the people of Medan City who had completed treatment at the Penang Hospital, Malaysia. The data analysis method used was logistic regression analysis. The results of the analysis showed that hospital facilities (p=0.001) and doctor services (p=0.001) had a significant effect on decision of people in Medan City going to Penang Hospital, Malaysia. Based on these findings, it is recommended that all Medan City Hospitals switch to a more optimal and consumer-oriented service system as has been done by most hospitals in Penang, Malaysia.

Organisational competitive procurement environment positively impacts prices while supply side factors also determine participation in bidding. With strong competition costs come down. Instances of low competition in equipment purchase in the apex tertiary care hospital led to this study aimed at determining procurement practices, competition in procurement and its determinants. Review of tender records for three financial years (2011–2014) was conducted to ascertain procurement practices and resulting competition. Sellers’ perspective on factors determining participation was captured through a questionnaire. Although four bids per tender were received only two qualified technically emphasising need for broad based specifications. Both
sellers and peer staff also feel that specifications are not broad based. Regression analysis showed that one unit increase in bid led to six per cent price reduction. Increase in number of equipment led to an increase in the number of bids received but no price decrease. Pre-bid meetings have no effect on the price offered. Quality of tender document and feasible demonstration are modifiable bidding factors. Procuring agencies need to be transparent to reflect an organisationally supported competitive environment. The future research directions are interventional studies on specifications, pre-bid meetings and increasing transparency.
