Friedrich Nietzsche

This paper argues that Nietzsche combines naturalistic motives with a practice of inner-worldly transcendence in his of the human. His procedures of naturalization, however, are so specifically Nietzschean, that the label 'naturalism' tends to cause more confusion as it helps to clarify. Moreover, Nietzsche’s anthropology is not just aimed at isolated existences, but takes into account the fundamentally social nature of the human. The social human nature reveals itself not only in higher cultural institutions, such as language, but already in bodily existence as a living and hierarchical organization. Individuation is the product of social organization, due to which the subject has the ability to self-design and self-determination in the first place. Nietzsche is a proponent of a political anthropology of freedom.

La obra de Nietzsche fragmentaria, heterogénea y a veces hasta contradictoria, se resiste a dejarse unificar en un todo coherente por nuestra incapacidad para encontrar ese artificio hermenéutico que lo haga posible. El autor propone si esa tarea no le podría corresponder a la hasta ahora gran olvidada: la biología.

This paper reconstructs Nietzsche's role in the history of epistemic relativism and defends his views as a viable version of reasonable contextualism. After the term 'relativism' was coined by Wilhelm Krug (1838) and August Comte (1855), Nietzsche encountered the notion and the idea in the works of John Stuart Mill, Jean Marie Guyau, Artur Schopenhauer and Friedrich Albert Lange. According to Nietzsche, acknowledging a certain relativism is a necessary and intellectually virtuous conclusion of the critical self-reflection of human reason

The following papers were presented at the Deleuze Circle, October 9, 2015, which convened at the Society for Phenomenology and Existential Philosophy’s annual meeting. Each Deleuze Circle meeting is organized around a specific text of Deleuze, and the presentations attempt to cover the work in its entirety. The hope is that participants can get a sense of the whole sufficient to propel their own work. This particular Deleuze Circle focused on Difference & Repetition. Our speakers were Henry Somers-Hall, Jay Lampert, Fredrika Spindler, and Len Lawlor. Henry, Jay, and Fredrika took chapters one through three respectively, and Len spoke about chapters four and five of Difference & Repetition. As moderator, I’d like to give a brief overview of each of the papers by shamelessly borrowing from Deleuze’s preface to Kant’s Critical Philosophy.

Deleuze opposes a Stoic-Cynic image of the philosopher of the surfaces, which descri- bes philosophy as movement of perversion, to the platonic image of the philosopher of altitudes, which describes philosophy as a manic-depres- sive movement. We aim to demonstrate that even though his interpretation reads Platonism from a contemporary point of view, this does not hinder its historical accuracy, which emphasizes novel aspects

Friedrich Nietzsche (1844–1900) remains one of the most challenging, influential and controversial figures in the history of philosophy. The New Cambridge Companion to Nietzsche provides a comprehensive and up-to-date guide to his most difficult ideas, including the will to power and the affirmation of life, as well as his treatment of truth, science, art and history. An accessible introduction sets out the nineteenth-century background of Nietzsche's life and work. Individual chapters are devoted to significant texts such as The Birth of Tragedy, Thus Spoke Zarathustra, Beyond Good and Evil and On the Genealogy of Morality. Other chapters explore major influences such as Wagner and Schopenhauer, as well as examining Nietzsche's reception and investigating his enduring and often divisive legacy. The volume will be valuable for readers seeking to enhance their understanding of Nietzsche's philosophy and of his role in the development of Western thought.

A intenção original era abordar um dos dois temas: 1) o Esporte como
reflexo das conclusões mais abrangentes de Guy Debord acerca da
totalidade do modo de produção capitalista avançado, tais quais
expostas em A Sociedade do Espetáculo, livro do fim da década de 60 e
cuja análise permanece atual; 2) a aplicação da filosofia nietzscheana
(Friedrich Nietzsche, filósofo alemão da segunda metade do século XIX)
ao homem que pratica o desporto, tendo em vista as numerosas
congruências entre os dois modelos (o do Super-Homem de
Nietzsche e o do homem ético-desportivo)¹. Não obstante, decidiuse,
afinal, dada a inaudita – para mim, em julgamentos preliminares –
proximidade entre os dois temas, abarcar a ambos.

El objeto del siguiente trabajo es exponer la relación entre la verdad y lo bueno según Nietzsche, reconociendo que el ámbito de lo bueno es irreductible a lo verdadero ya que depende de la voluntad de poder. 
En primera instancia, vamos a exponer los conceptos necesarios que nos permitan plantear la irreductibilidad de lo bueno a lo verdadero, siendo estos; la concepción de verdad en Sobre Verdad y Mentira y el valor por la misma en La Genealogía de la Moral. Asimismo, Scheler, considera que lo bueno es lo valioso y que el valor se encuentra estructurado en una jerarquía. La propuesta de Scheler es que la experiencia del deber presupone al valor, es decir, lo moralmente bueno siempre va depender de la intencionalidad, es un valor generado a espaldas del acto, y depende de los buenos motivos que lo generan. A partir de estas premisas, daremos una pincelada genérica que exponga el valor de la verdad, el valor de lo bueno, y la relación entre ambos haciendo hincapié con la intencionalidad en Scheler y la voluntad de poder en Nietzsche.

Explores the accusation that Leo Strauss was some sort of "Jewish Nazi," arguing instead that Strauss is mistaken for a Nazi because his philosophy belongs to the broad "Conservative Revolutionary" intellectual movement of interwar Germany, which had common roots with National Socialism and thus bore a family resemblance to it.

Filozoficzna mistyka (czy-jak możemy nazywać ją na potrzeby tej pracy-mistycyzm spekulatywny, teologia spekulatywna, czy spekulatywna teologia filozoficzna) ujmowana jest przez Karla Alberta jako kierunek myślowy, który powołuje się na doświadczenie jedności jednostkowego ,,ja" i zasady świata - jest nią:

,,taki kierunek myślowy, który wykraczając poza racjonalne oraz dialektyczne myślenie lub raczej cofając się za nie, powołuje się na doświadczenie jedności ,,ja" i zasady świata, tkwiące u podstaw wszystkich poszczególnych doświadczeń".

Kierunek ten jest uzasadniony, ponieważ mistyka 1 (czy też teologia-nauka, o tym, co boskie, a więc-metafizyka) i filozofia łączyły się wielokrotnie w toku historii ludzkiej myśli. Tym zaś, co pozwala odkryć zasadniczą, leżącą u podstaw wszystkich zjawisk jedność, a zarazem jest celem, i być może nawet źródłem wszelkiego filozofowania, pozwalającym na doświadczenie jedności ,,ja" i boskiej zasady świata, jest intuitio mystica.
Karl Albert, szukając uzasadnienia swojego kierunku myślowego, powołuje się na Nietzschego, którego myśl wyraża zasadniczą, wewnętrzną treść filozoficznej mistyki-a mówi on wprost: ,,Właściwym celem wszelkiego filozofowania jest intuitio mystica".

Cette étude se propose de mettre en lumière la confrontation de Karl Löwith avec l’œuvre de Nietzsche, de sa thèse de 1923 aux derniers textes de la fin des années 1960. Elle  interroge les usages que la pensée de Löwith fait de cette œuvre, et les fonctions que cette dernière reçoit au sein d’un parcours intellectuel qui lui reste intimement lié en chacun de ses grands moments. Tout d’abord, le projet löwithien d’une anthropologie articulée à la nature prend appui sur la « naturalisation de l’homme » nietzschéenne, en opposition avec la phénoménologie, en particulier heideggérienne. La critique löwithienne de l’« existence historique » se nourrit ensuite de la doctrine de l’éternel retour comprise comme tentative de dépassement du temps historique en vue d’une « nouvelle alliance » avec le monde comme cosmos physique. Le constat d’échec que Löwith établit relativement à la tentative nietzschéenne de surmonter la négation chrétienne du monde et avec elle le nihilisme moderne, conduit cependant à interroger également la fécondité du projet philosophique löwithien lui-même.
