Dieses Buch analysiert das gesellschaftlich weitverbreitete Ressentiment gegen RB Leipzig aus antisemitismuskritischer Perspektive. In einer empirisch fundierten theoretischen Auseinandersetzung stellt dieses Buch eine gleichermaßen innovative wie richtungsweisende Studie über die Fankultur der Ultras sowie die Artikulationsformen des Antisemitismus im 21. Jahrhundert vor. Brunssen legt eindrucksvoll dar, wie sich die Ablehnung RB Leipzigs aus einem jahrhundertealten Fundus antisemitischer Bilder speist.

This article considers how the purchase and use of film-inspired sex toys interacts with current understandings of fan practice. Using existing critical frameworks, including Jonathan Gray’s work on fan-made paratexts, this article will consider how these toys operate as paratextual engagements with The Shape of Water that reify some of the queer elements that have been adopted by a portion of the film’s fandom. It is this article’s position that the devices in question offer fascinating (if not entirely unprecedented) forms of textual engagement that suggest a continuation of the film’s defence of queer love through their enabling of tentraphilic masturbation. It is the aim of this article to consider how the pleasures offered by such devices can be understood in relation to established and emerging forms of fan practice, whilst illustrating one of the more unique forms of reception operating beyond the realm of licensed ephemera.

While fandom is a dominant girlhood trope, few accounts examine faith within the context of girls’ fandom. Addressing this gap, using a feminist poststructural analysis, I draw on interviews and participant observation to locate fan communities as a space for Muslim girls to enact citizenship. Combining youth cultural studies, girlhood studies, and fan studies, I explore how Muslim fangirls of the Norwegian teen web-drama Skam (2015-17) draw upon their desire for recognition and their creativity as cultural producers to engage in participatory storytelling which challenges popular representations of Muslim girls. This process enables the production of communities rooted in shared interests, experiences, and identities. I conclude by suggesting that fandom should be recognized for its capacity to generate new meanings of citizenship for minority youth.

The performer–viewer relationship premised on mediated intimacy is a pivotal element of porn. As social media afford more interactivity and flexibility for pornographic relationship-building, gay porn performers start to have an active presence on platforms like Twitter to not only promote their works, but also showcase what is ‘behind the scene’. This study provides a qualitative analysis of the Twitter feeds of performers affiliated with Helix Studios, a gay porn producer specializing in the twink genre. It is found that a networked intimacy is constructed through performers’ Twitter self-presentation. The networked intimacy pivots on the fantasy of the twink body, the romantic and sexual bonds among performers, and the fandom-facilitated interactions. Relational labour is dedicated to the authentication of performers’ professional persona through their private life. Under this aesthetics of authenticity, intimacy is commodified to sell sex, and sexuality is essentialized into a staged congruity between sexual acts and desires. Networked intimacy, as a common condition for gay porn production and consumption in a hybrid media system, develops into a multilayer shape on social media platforms. This case study of Helix Studios performers’ tweets reveals both precarities and potentials of networked intimacy in gay porn.

Este  artigo  tem  como  objetivo  analisar  as  dimensões  da  literacia midiática  propostas  por  Mihailidis  (2014)  presentes  nos  conteúdos compartilhados no Twitter pelos fãs do shipp Limantha, da telenovela infanto-juvenil Malhação  –  Viva  a  diferença  (2018-2019).  Além  de serem compostas por diversas camadas interpretativas, as produções criativas ressaltam o domínio e a compreensão crítica dos fãs em relação às nuances narrativas da telenovela e à arquitetura informacional do Twitter, bem como a criação de estratégias de mobilização em torno de tópicos específicos

Pro gradu -tutkielmassani selvitän, voiko terminologisen käännöstyön joukkoistaminen tuottaa
saavutettavia termikäännöksiä tai -määritelmiä Pokémon-pääsarjan pelien termeistä. Tutkin myös,
pitävätkö Pokémon-pääsarjan pelaajat saavutettavia termejä ja määritelmiä käytettävinä. Tavoitteeni on
antaa käännösalan ammattilaisille tietoa siitä, miten pelaajat toimivat joukkoistetussa
kääntämisympäristössä ja milloin heitä kannattaa osallistaa termien kääntämiseen ja määrittelyyn.
Lisäksi tutkimus auttaa muodostamaan konkreettisen käsityksen siitä, miten faniyhteisöä ja pelien
kääntämistä kannattaa lähestyä, kun tavoitellaan saavutettavuuden ja käytettävyyden tasapainoa.
Esittelen tutkimuksessa ensin kriteerit saavutettavalle termille ja määritelmälle. Kriteerit
perustuvat sanastotyön yleisiin hyvän termin ja määritelmän periaatteisiin sekä saavutettavuusteorioihin
ja -tutkimuksiin. Joukkoistamisen määritelmä tutkimuksessani perustuu käyttäjälähtöisen kääntämisen
viitekehykseen.
Tutkimusympäristöni oli verkkopohjainen termipankki, jonka rakensin tutkimusta varten websuunnittelija Joni Kaunismäen kanssa. Termipankissa käyttäjät saivat suomentaa ja määritellä
Pokémon-pelien englanninkielisiä termejä, antaa suomennoksille ja määritelmille plus- ja miinusääniä
ja kommentteja ja lisätä termipankkiin termejä. Tämä käyttäjien tuottama sisältö muodosti tutkimukseni
aineiston. Termipankin suunnittelu perustui saavutettavuus- ja käytettävyysperiaatteisiin ja
käyttäjäkeskeiseen suunnitteluun. Hyödynsin termipankin suunnittelussa myös muiden
verkkotermipankkien ja -sanakirjojen rakenteita ja käyttäjätutkimuksia. Valitsin termipankkiin neljä
termikategoriaa erilaisia Pokémon-faniyhteisön jäseniä ja muita lukijoita ajatellen. Termikategoriat olivat
tilat ja tilanmuutokset, pokémonien perustiedot, pelimaailman avainsanasto ja syvälliset mekaniikat ja
kilpailu.
Termipankissa oli aineistonkeruun lopussa 40 englanninkielistä termiä. Termeille oli kirjoitettu
43 suomennosta ja määritelmää. Ääniä suomennoksille ja määritelmille oli 73, kommentteja 12.
Sivustolla oli 13 aktiivista käyttäjää. Termeistä 29 ja määritelmistä 21 sai vähintään yhden saavutettavan
määritelmän. Termisuomennokset olivat suurimmilta osin saavutettavia, ja saavutettavia termejä
pidettiin käytettävinä. Eniten eroja termisuomennosten saavutettavuuden ja käytettävyyskäsitysten
välillä aiheuttivat faniyhteisöjen viestintätottumukset, termien käyttöyhteydet, ja täysi aikaisemman
suomenkielisen termipohjan puute. Määritelmien saavutettavuus ja käytettävyyskäsitykset olivat
termisuomennoksia jakautuneempia. Saavutettavuuden ja käytettävyyskäsitysten välisiin eroihin
vaikuttivat fanien viestintätottumusten lisäksi tiedon kapseloituminen ja ainutlaatuinen
vuorovaikutussuhde pelaajan ja pelin välillä. Vuorovaikutussuhde saattoi tosin myös auttaa luomaan
saavutettavia määritelmiä ja vähentämään saavutettavuuden ja käytettävyyskäsitysten välistä eroa.
Tulokset viittaavat siihen, että fanit voivat oikeissa olosuhteissa tuottaa joukkoistetusti
saavutettavia termejä ja määritelmiä ja pitää niitä käytettävinä. Fanien suurimmat voimavarat
joukkoistetussa käännöstyössä ovat faniyhteisön kollektiivinen älykkyys ja kriittinen ajattelu. Kun

In Japan, there is a group of women who are notoriously known as “rotten women” because of their fantasies that perceive male homosocial relationships as homoromantic or homosexual. These transformative homoerotic fantasies are central to Boys Love culture. These “rotten women” or fujoshi engage with Japanese popular media using Boys Love literacies that challenge normative notions of male intimacy. In this paper, I examine Boys Love literacies, which bear intertextual and potentially queer qualities, and the impact these have on readers. I interrogate how an audience, immersed in heteronormative Japanese media, learn these non-normative literacies that I am positioning as a set of new literacies. I analyse Boys Love literacies embedded in fanworks, particularly women’s fan comics, and highlight how these serve as pedagogical tools in understanding the logics of these nuanced literacies. I argue that these comics serve as critical affective mediums that impart the queer and intertextual characteristics of Boys Love culture that challenge heteronormative engagements with Japanese popular media. This paper highlights a kind of cultural literacy production and dissemination that operate on a grassroots level and is produced by young actors who actively explore the queer potential of Japanese media.

This paper interrogates the transcultural flows of popular media, the centers that influence these flows, and the ways in which consumers dirsupt these centers through local consumption. I use Filipino fans and consumers of Japanese popular media and examine how they have disrupted transcultural practices stemming from Japan and the United States by producing fan products that are increasingly local. I argue that in recent years, fan spaces surrounding popular media have become increasingly assertive in expressing their local cultural forms to disrupt the "homogeneity" of global fandom.
