Few published studies have reported on the psychological well-being of family members of individuals with Rett syndrome (RTT). Eighty-seven mothers of girls and women with RTT completed a questionnaire survey about their daughters' behavioral phenotype, current health, and behavior problems, and their own and a sibling's well-being. Mothers reported increased anxiety but similar levels of depression when compared to a normative sample. Across all problem domains on the Strengths and Difficulties Questionnaire, child and adolescent siblings (n = 39) were reported by mothers to have fewer difficulties than a normative sample. The severity of their daughters' RTT behavioral phenotype predicted increased anxiety and stress for mothers. Increased RTT daughters' current health problems predicted more maternal perceptions of positive gain.

RIASSUNTO. Scopo. Lo scopo di questo studio è stato quello di investigare l'influenza della probabilità di suicidio, con le sue caratteristiche sociodemografiche, e di procurare i dati per la prevenzione del suicidio tra le guardie di sicurezza privata che lavorano in condizioni di stress, essendo a contatto ininterrottamente con eventi negativi e traumatici di vita durante il loro lavoro. Metodi. Hanno partecipato allo studio 200 guardie di sicurezza privata e 200 persone dell'Università di Ankara. Per raccogliere i dati sono stati utilizzati un questionario riguardante le condizioni sociodemografiche dei partecipanti, la Suicide Probability Scale (SPS) e la Brief Symptom Inventory (BSI). El presente estudio busca comprobar las propiedades psicométricas del Major Depression Inventory (MDI) en una muestra de estudiantes universitarios colombianos, incluyendo un nuevo ítem, debido a la necesidad de adaptar y validar instrumentos para esta población. Participaron 341 estudiantes de Medicina y Promoción de la Salud con edades entre 18 a 38 años (M = 21.3; SD = 3.04; 65.7% mujeres). Se encontraron evidencias de validez de contenido por juicio de expertos y prueba piloto, de validez de constructo con análisis factorial exploratorio y confirmatorio, y de validez comparada con la prueba Positive and Negative Suicidal Ideation (PANSI). Se confirmó la calidad psicométrica de la prueba, incluyendo un ítem más para actualizar su estructura unifactorial en coherencia con el DSM-5. To conduct a model-driven meta-analysis of correlational research on psychological and motivational predictors of diabetes outcomes, with adherence factors as mediators. A comprehensive literature search of published and unpublished studies located a sample of 775 individual correlational or predictive studies reported across 739 research reports. Results varied according to the outcome variable included in the regression models. Depression had a larger negative effect on adherence to physical activity than on dietary adherence. Coping and self-efficacy were strongly related to dietary adherence, which was strongly related to improved glycemic control. Medication adherence was related to glycosylated hemoglobin, whereas medications and self-monitoring were related to fasting blood glucose.
