Non è la prima volta che il lessico militare entra a far parte di un ambito comunicativo di tutt’altro dominio semantico e, non per niente, sceglie di farlo attraverso la metafora. Non si parla infatti di semplici figure retoriche, ma di espressioni capaci di creare un’immagine linguistica che non ha la necessità di essere compresa, ma che viene semplicemente e istantaneamente percepita. La presente ricerca si pone l’obiettivo di analizzare le implicazioni dell’utilizzo della metafora militare in situazioni di emergenza sanitaria come quella del contemporaneo Covid-19. Per farlo prende in considerazione i principali pensieri filosofici, linguistici e cognitivi a riguardo, e ne applica le deduzioni nello studio del caso coronavirus.

Diese Zahl ist offenbar gottgegeben und keinesfalls zu erhöhen. The Covid-19 pandemic in the twenty-first century made it necessary to conduct a study on psychology in the translation profession. The study aims to determine whether there is a significant relationship between translator candidates' fear of Covid-19 and their professional outcome expectations. Within the study's scope, the effect of the psychological conditions of the translator candidates studying at the Department of Translation and Interpretation in French at Marmara University during pandemic on the outcome expectations for the translation profession after graduation was tried to be examined. Due to the pandemic, the questionnaire prepared on Google Forms, including the fear of Covid-19 scale and the professional outcome expectation scale and demographic questions, was sent online to the translator candidates. A total of 56 translator candidates voluntarily participated in the research. SPSS software was used for the analysis of the data. The study's hypothesis, which was created that there is a relationship between fear of Covid-19 and expectation towards the translation profession, has been confirmed. There is a statistically significant negative correlation between the fear of Covid-19 and the expectation towards the translation profession. In this direction, as the translator candidates' fear of Covid-19 increases, the expectations of professional outcomes decrease. Again, as the translator candidates' fear of Covid-10 decreases, their expectations for professional outcomes increase. A number of recommendations have been made to deal with the psychological repercussions of the Covid-19 outbreak. This research, which was presented during the process of dealing with the pandemic, is expected to shed light on other studies to be conducted.

Contagious disease pandemics present a significant threat worldwide in terms of both human health and economic damage. New diseases emerge annually and place enormous burdens on many countries. Additionally, using humans to handle pandemic situations increases the chances of disease spreading. Therefore, various technologies that do not directly involve humans should be employed to handle pandemic situations. The Internet of Drones (IoDT), artificial intelligence (AI), and blockchain are emerging technologies that have revolutionized the modern world. This paper presents a blockchain-based AIempowered pandemic situation supervision scheme in which a swarm of drones embedded with AI is engaged to autonomously monitor pandemic outbreaks, thereby keeping human involvement as low as possible. A use case based on a recent pandemic (i.e., COVID-19) is discussed. Two types of drone swarms are used to handle multiple tasks (e.g., checking face masks and imposing lockdowns). A lightweight blockchain is considered to handle situations in remote areas with poor network connectivity. Additionally, a two-phase lightweight security mechanism is adopted to validate the entities in the proposed scheme. A proof of concept is established using an experimental environment setup and dataset training. An analysis of the experimental results demonstrates the feasibility of the proposed scheme.

Pandemics are very burdensome for every country in terms of health and economy. Technology is needed to come forward to lessen the burden. As finding cure instantly is not always possible, prevention method can be adopted to reduce the damages. Among the methods, home quarantine (HQ) can be beneficial. However, maintaining HQ is very difficult, especially in remote areas where network connectivity is very limited. Drones, dew computing, and blockchain are emerging technologies which can assist in reducing damages. This paper presents a blockchain enabled home quarantine supervision scheme in which patients are monitored using drones. A lightweight computation environment is established to assist the drone. A proof of concept is established to demonstrate the feasibility.

The objective of this research is to analyze the repositioning strategy in a time of crisis and its importance for the survival of the brand. The strategy adopted by Gympass in 2020, during the Covid-19 pandemic, was specifically observed as a case study for this research. During this period, the company made rapid changes to its services portfolio to ensure the preservation of its business model. It started offering online classes in partnership with gyms and personal trainers, as well as providing access to wellness applications (such as meditation, therapy, nutrition). For this analysis, the methodology used was that of the case study, based on primary sources (semi-structured interview) and secondary sources (articles and interviews available in the media). It is therefore a documentation-based investigation to understand the processes that led to the repositioning of the brand, in addition to its effectiveness and relevance. In the end, it is concluded that, in the face of great social and cultural transformations, an agile repositioning may be responsible for the survival of the brand.

Resumo

Esta pesquisa busca analisar a estratégia de reposicionamento em um momento de crise e sua importância para a sobrevivência da marca. Foi observada especificamente a estratégia adotada pelo Gympass em 2020, durante a pandemia do Covid-19. Nesse período, a empresa fez rápidas alterações em seu portfólio de serviços para garantir a manutenção de seu modelo de negócios. Passou a oferecer aulas online com academias e personal trainers, além de acesso a aplicativos de bem-estar (como meditação, terapia, nutrição). Para essa análise, a metodologia utilizada foi a do estudo de caso, baseado em fontes primárias (entrevista semi-estruturada) e secundárias (artigos e entrevistas disponíveis na mídia). Trata-se portanto de uma investigação baseada em documentação para compreender os processos que levaram ao reposicionamento de marca, além de sua efetividade e relevância. Ao final, conclui-se que, frente a grandes transformações sociais e culturais, um reposicionamento de marca ágil pode ser responsável pela sobrevida da marca.

todo con aspectos epidemiológicos (hasta en 67%) y clínicos (52%) de la pandemia. En cuanto a la causalidad, las respuestas de las personas encuestadas se agruparon en cuatro modelos explicativos: moral (40.3%), determinista (38.7%), agencial (17.8%) y xenofóbico (3.1%). La limitación más importante del estudio radica en que se tuvo poco control sobre la muestra por tratarse de una encuesta difundida en medios digitales. El trabajo presenta hallazgos que contribuyen a comprender la diversidad de los comportamientos de la población mexicana ante la pandemia. Entre estos, la adopción o no de las prescripciones propuestas por las autoridades sanitarias. El trabajo constituye un insumo para el diseño de estrategias de promoción de la salud y de comunicación de los
riesgos. Hallazgos de relevancia son el alto grado de penetración del discurso biomédico en los conocimientos y modelos explicativos de la población encuestada, así como la importancia de la experiencia directa de una situación amenazante en la percepción del riesgo. S presentan los resultados preliminares en el marco de una investigación más amplia de la percepción colectiva del riesgo ante tal situación. n 19 March 2020, I last met with a group of women from a
neighbourhood of Monterrey, Mexico where I have spent the past
year conducting ethnographic research. They had scheduled a
meeting to decide whether to continue our weekly talks on
health-related topics. ‘Is this coronavirus real?’ was the question
guiding the meeting. Women shared their thoughts on their
feelings on the threat that predominates in biomedical discourse.
An air of resignation pervaded their speech. Nearly all of them
suffer from chronic diseases and they clearly perceive the risk of
their own death. However, the material conditions of their lives
limit the scope of their strategies to protect themselves. A
dialogue emerged between the women’s request for clarity
regarding the pandemic and me, a researcher called on as a
physician. This article seeks to reflect on the political and moral
aspects of everyday life that configure risk perception in the
context of the WHO-declared pandemic. I analyse the dialogue
sustained in the meeting as part of an ethnographic research I am
conducting in this neighbourhood. Most of its residents live under
precarious circumstances, which is a fundamental element in
understanding their responses to the current COVID-19 crisis.

Estamos viviendo una pandemia mundial. ¿Ustedes saben lo que es una pandemia? Dicen que es una enfermedad que ataca a muchas personas al mismo tiempo. Background: The main purpose of this research is to describe the mathematical asymmetric patterns of susceptible, infectious, or recovered (SIR) model equation application in the light of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) skewness patterns worldwide. Methods: The research modeled severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-COV-2) spreading and dissemination patterns sensitivity by redesigning time series data extraction of daily new cases in terms of deviation consistency concerning variables that sustain COVID-19 transmission. The approach opened a new scenario where seasonality forcing behavior was introduced to understand SARS-COV-2 non-linear dynamics due to heterogeneity and confounding epidemics scenarios. Results: The main research results are the elucidation of three birth- and death-forced seasonality persistence phases that can explain COVID-19 skew patterns worldwide. They are presented in the following order: (1) the environmental variables (Earth seasons and atmospheric conditions); (2) health policies and adult learning education (HPALE) interventions; (3) urban spaces (local indoor and outdoor spaces for transit and social-cultural interactions, public or private, with natural physical features (river, lake, terrain). Conclusions: Three forced seasonality phases (positive to negative skew) phases were pointed out as a theoretical framework to explain uncertainty found in the predictive SIR model equations that might diverge in outcomes expected to express the disease’s behaviour.

The consequences of the coronavirus and the physical limitations it imposes on museums and their visitors force museums to rethink cultural identity and to approach the exhibition of material artworks differently. Only a limited number of people are allowed to visit the museum at one time, booking time slots is mandatory, making it difficult to welcome visitors. As most Dutch museums are largely self-funded, the lack of tourists, visitors, educational programmes that generate income, together with the insufficient financial support of the Dutch government, have greatly impacted their policies. This report analyses the coronavirus’ effects on the role of museums within the Dutch ‘anderhalvemetersamenleving’ (one and a half meter society). This report offers an overview of the changes that have taken place in Dutch society due to the limitations of physical interaction with artworks and the museum space as well as the way Dutch museums have reacted to these consequences. Lastly, this report offers an analysis of the success of these new developments and the challenges that still need to be overcome. Thus, ways will be proposed in which Dutch museums can learn from these actions in maintaining their critical function in society.

Este artigo tem por objetivo demonstrar a necessidade imperiosa da adoção do “lockdown” com o fechamento de todas as atividades não essenciais em todo o Brasil e  do impeachment de Bolsonaro para sustar o avanço da pandemia do novo Coronavirus que atingiu níveis alarmantes no País. O “lockdown” se tornou necessário porque não há outra alternativa capaz de impedir imediatamente o aumento exponencial de infectados e mortos no Brasil, nem mesmo com a vacinação em massa, e o impeachment de Bolsonaro se impõe porque desde o início da pandemia ele sabota todas as medidas necessárias ao combate à pandemia, isto é, ele colabora com a propagação do Coronavírus e com o assassinato coletivo da população brasileira.

Cet article vise à démontrer la nécessité impérative de l'adoption du «lockdown» avec la fermeture de toutes les activités non essentielles dans tout le Brésil et la destitution de Bolsonaro pour arrêter l'avancée de la pandémie du nouveau Coronavirus qui a atteint des niveaux alarmants dans le pays. Le  “lockdown” est devenu nécessaire car il n'y a pas d'autre alternative capable d'empêcher immédiatement l'augmentation exponentielle du nombre d'infectés et de tués au Brésil, pas même avec la vaccination de masse, et la destitution de Bolsonaro est nécessaire car depuis le début de la pandémie il a saboté toutes les mesures nécessaire pour lutter contre la pandémie, c'est-à-dire qu'il collabore à la propagation du Coronavirus et au meurtre collectif de la population brésilienne.

This article aims to demonstrate the imperative need for the adoption of the “lockdown” with the closure of all non-essential activities throughout Brazil and the impeachment of Bolsonaro to halt the advance of the pandemic of the new Coronavirus that has reached alarming levels in the country. The “lockdown” became necessary because there is no other alternative capable of immediately preventing the exponential increase in the number of infected and killed in Brazil, not even with the mass vaccination and Bolsonaro's impeachment is necessary because since the beginning of the pandemic he has sabotaged all measures necessary to combat the pandemic, that is, it collaborates with the spread of the Coronavirus and with the collective murder of the Brazilian population.
