This paper addresses the topic of knowledge discovery from data in the context of Arts. In particular, the paper aims to examine the “distant listening” approach to uncover and interpret patterns and rules behind archaeology-inspired music. This approach employs quantitative data mining and graphical visualisation tools to identify and present discovered patterns in music data. For the purpose of the current study, a set of classical music pieces motivated by UNESCO-listed world heritage 'stecci' was collected and used as a source of arts data. The collected data were stored in a spreadsheet file and then analysed using Palladio software for network analysis and visualisation. The resulting relational graph enabled easy visual exploration of associations between stecci and musical forms and styles inspired by these archaeological artefacts. However, these findings need to be interpreted with caution due to present limitations. Further research is necessary that would replicate and extend current study to other contexts and questions.

This educational intervention was carried out in the Arts Faculty of the Autonomous University of Chihuahua to provide training in entrepreneurship to undergraduate students and alumni from the bachelor programs in arts. Their careers present low occupational prestige due to the context of the city of Chihuahua and the conditions of study programs that prepare them for an environment that does not hire young people, such as government agencies for culture and arts education. Based on the analysis of surveys, specialized literature, the contents of study programs and direct observation, an online course was created to help students and graduates learn about administration, marketing, and human capital by themselves. Due to its minimal impact, face-to-face courses were implemented so students could develop business projects and, subsequently, access soft credits. The need to create productive projects since  undergraduate stages is an imminent result of government policies aimed at self-employment, recurrent economic crises, and the reduction in quality jobs.

The research focuses on the importance of the interrelationship between identity and heritage as a bonding factor that brings together all those who contributed to the formation of this heritage, regardless of the other ethnic, religious and linguistic affiliations within one identity, the Syrian national identity.

STORIES BEHIND THE STATS uses data and information to provide a more definitive picture and understanding of what UAL graduates do after they leave the institution and how they feel about their career journeys.

As well as presenting key data from the Destinations of Leavers of Higher Education (DLHE) survey, the report seeks to contextualise this data and show the stories behind the stats through extracts and data from qualitative graduate studies, blogs and interviews.

Arts and artifacts of various forms and sizes adorn different areas of property
either on the wall, in the boxes or on the shelves. There are also evidences of uses of
arts and artifacts for commerce. These and other uses of art and artifacts necessitated
their valuation just like it is done for land and buildings. Estate surveyors and valuers
are called upon based on the dictate of the Nigeria Law, their academic and
professional trainings to advise various stakeholders who may have one thing or the
other to do with arts and artifacts to help them in determining the value for such a use
or uses. Despite this enabling criteria, Estate Valuers are confronted with challenges
in identifying, separating and analyzing the factors that determine the values of arts
and artifacts. This study examines the various factors that determine the value of arts
and artifacts. A structured questionnaire was designed and administered on 17 Estate
Surveying and Valuation firms in Abeokuta, Ogun state. The data gathered were
analyzed using Mean Weighted Score (MWS) and frequency distribution. Common
factors considered in the process of arts collection include the buyer’s perception,
condition and quality of the artwork among other factors. Findings revealed that most
art buyers collect artifacts at certain huge amount primarily because of their own
definition of the arts, outstanding aesthetics and thereby developing personal opinion
of art value while the role of a professional property valuer is displaced from the
process. This study therefore concluded that there should be a defined process of
valuing artworks by property valuers which will include a guideline defining the
factors to be considered in art and artifact valuation, thereby encouraging uniformity
of value estimation of such personal property as it is for land and building valuations.

This article presents synergies between arts education, political consciousness raising, and leadership development for youth, and suggests roles for the arts in community organizing for personal and social change. Arts education is seen as a strategy to unleash creativity, affirm cultural assets, cultivate multiple literacies, critique oppressive social practices, and ignite freedoms. Rooted in the US civil rights movement of the 1960s, Freedom Schools became a national network committed to youth development. The case study, set in the Freedom School of South Los Angeles, introduces readers to geographical, cultural, and institutional contexts for the work; outlines a critical methodology for participatory action research; and shares transformational autoethnographies of teaching and learning in arts education classrooms. It is grounded in intersectional feminist methodologies, and is aimed at educators, artists, urbanists, and cultural studies practitioners. The work invested in youth voice and professional development of novice teachers by activating creativity and intergenerational mentorship to reimagine alternative futures. Short term project outcomes are conveyed, alongside longer-term implications for systemic change that values the lives of black and brown youth, families, and communities.

Globalization, Neo-liberalization, Post-modernism are approaches that makes the world one, it has increased cultural exchanges, academic exchanges, trade and business exchanges and is useful for all developing countries on the globe, if those are its advantages, people migration through illegally is its disadvantages, there was no global terms of legal or illegal immigration at the beginning of 19th century,
due to changes of world order, population growth, regional conflicts, war, civil war, poverty, people start to moving from one to another country, population growth in developing countries is one of the most important reasons that forced people leave their land and to migrate illegally or legally, though legal immigration has processes for their further innovation, development but illegal immigration is a curse for developed countries, countries that are industrially developed like United Arab Emirates, Kuwait, people from developing world are forcing to leave due to war, civil war, community clashes, and to taking shelter as a refugees but at the end most of them are not returning after normalization of their own conflicts, people are moving without documents, in the United Europe, European Union policies are trying to control immigration from non- member countries such as immigrants from Morocco and other North Africans countries are migrating illegally to Spain for a better life and to came out from miserable life from their own countries but the Spain Government declares to deport people from non- members countries who are living illegally in Spanish land, England declares to controlling access of all Romanian and Bulgarian to the UK who are benefitting as EU member country, upon acceptance of all East European countries as the member of EU, approximately 427,000 East Europeans, mostly from Poland have registered for employment in Britain, though Western Europe are more inclined to hire Eastern European than Asian and Africans, but yet Britain decided to came out from EU because of illegal immigration to Britain from Eastern Europe which negatively affected their economy and job security of original British citizens’, so what is the solution for the worst crisis of illegal immigration and refugees accommodation world-wide? Is it forcing them to back their own countries? Is it taking initiatives through both North and South countries for the solution of the problem? Or is it solving really? A continual discussion of alternative solutions world-wide has to be discovered for the reduction of the problem of refugees and immigration world-wide, communication between developing and the developed countries have to be strength for the resolution of faster population growth in developing countries, assistance by the developed countries in war conflicted regions has to be increased, universal birth control education need to be formed, I tried to discussed the problems, reasons, and its solution as one of my focused areas in international development, it is something that I would like pursue my study in the near future as a continuing student, I hope I will be succeed.

Although there is strong advocacy for uptake of both the arts and creative activities as determinants of well-being, longitudinal studies evaluating causal links between attendance to arts and culture events or participation in creative activities and well-being are scarce. If available, results are mostly of an associative nature confirming an interdependence between the two. In this light, this study adds to the literature by investigating causative impact of participation in creative activities and attendance to cultural events on well-being in the British population. This study also examines the moderation effect of personality traits on the impact that cultural and creative activities exert on well-being. Three waves (2011, 2012, 2014) of the Understanding Society–U.K. Household Longitudinal Study were analyzed. The data are representative for the British population aged 16 and over with respect to major demographic variables and geographical location. Outcome-wide regression analysis—to account for multidimensionality of the well-being concept—with control of all variables temporally prior to the engagement with cultural activities—in order to circumvent the endogeneity problem—was applied. Results confirmed a positive causative relationship between cultural attendance, cultural participation, and well-being outcomes. Two effects of participation in cultural events (on life satisfaction and on life constraints) were found to depend on personality (on neuroticism and extraversion, respectively). This study provides some support for the positive role of active arts engagement, especially passive attendance to art events, in the improvement of human well-being.
