Due to the exponential growth of information online, it is becoming impossible to decipher the true from the false. Thus, this leads to the problem of fake news. This research considers previous and current methods for fake news detection in textual formats while detailing how and why fake news exists in the first place. This paper includes a discussion on Linguistic Cue and Network Analysis approaches, and proposes a three-part method using Naïve Bayes Classifier, Support Vector Machines, and Semantic Analysis as an accurate way to detect fake news on social media. This Project comes up with the applications of NLP (Natural Language Processing) techniques for detecting the 'fake news', that is, misleading news stories that comes from the non-reputable sources. Only by building a model based on a count vectorizer (using word tallies) or a (Term Frequency Inverse Document Frequency) tfidf matrix, (word tallies relative to how often they're used in other articles in your dataset) can only get you so far. But these models do not consider the important qualities like word ordering and context. It is very possible that two articles that are similar in their word count will be completely different in their meaning. The data science community has responded by taking actions against the problem. There is a Kaggle competition called as the "Fake News Challenge" and Facebook is employing AI to filter fake news stories out of users' feeds. Combatting the fake news is a classic text classification project with a straight forward proposition. Is it possible for you to build a model that can differentiate between "Real "news and "Fake" news? So a proposed work on assembling a dataset of both fake and real news and employ a Naive Bayes classifier in order to create a model to classify an article into fake or real based on its words and phrases.

The Internet has offered us the privilege to access the latest news of the events happening worldwide within minimum time and effort. But as said "Every coin has two sides", so does the internet. On one hand, the internet has revolutionized news consumption around the globe by enabling each and every person to gain information in just a few clicks on their device, but on the other hand, the very blessing becomes a curse as the internet makes it easier for the illegitimate media stream to exploit the advantages of internet to spread fake news. "Fake News" is incorrect, untruthful, and untrustworthy information that has the immense power of influencing public opinion and creating an extremely negative impact on individuals. According to a report, 69% of Indians were infested with fake news during Coronavirus Lockdown 2020. Hence, it is crucial to make an effort to detect fake news and prevent it from circulating on the internet. In this paper, we present "Fakebox", a system designed on machine learning and natural language processing techniques for detecting fake news. To build "Fakebox", we used a dataset set of a combination of fake and real news from different domains like technology, politics, entertainment, sports, etc., to train the model using Scikit-learn and NLTK libraries in Python. We extracted features from the dataset using a text representation model that is Bag-of-Words for a comprehensive understanding of the dataset which has resulted in the model giving up to 85% accuracy.

Recently, there has been a sudden increase in fake news due to the immense use of social media and online news media. It has become much easier to spread fake news than earlier. This type of fake news when spread may cause a severe impact. Hence it is very essential to take certain measures to reduce or differentiate between real and fake news. In this paper, we presents an analysis of fake news detection using various classifiers like Naive Bayes, Support Vector Machine (SVM), Logistic regression and decision tree classifier.

Fake news are described with an intenation to misdirect or to delude the reader. We have presented a response for the task for fake news, individuls are clashing if not by large poor locators of fake news. For this reason new system is generated for fake news identification. The result of this project determines the actual fake news detection for social networks using machine learning. Number of peoples having social media accounts such as facebook, whatsapp, twitter, etc. This social network is main source of news. Because of the wide effects of the huge fake news, individuals are clashing if not by large poor locators of fake news. While these sytems are utilized to make an increasingly dynamic complete start to finish arrangement, we need to talk with to progressively troublesome cases where progressively solid sources and creators release counterfeit news. As, the goal of this model was to make an apparatus for recognizing the language plans that depict fake and certified news utilizing AI, AI and regular language preparing strategies. The results of this system demonstrate the limit with regards to machine learning and AI to be significant. We have developed a new system that gets many no of natural signs of genuine and fake news & also an application that guides in the representation of the classification choice.

Counterfeit news is a peculiarity which is fundamentally affecting our public activity, specifically in the political world. Counterfeit news location is an arising research region which is acquiring interest however elaborate a few difficulties because of the restricted measure of assets accessible. Data accuracy on Internet, particularly via online media, is an undeniably significant concern, yet web-scale information hampers, capacity to distinguish, assess and right such information, or purported "counterfeit news," present in these stages. This strategy utilizes NLP Classification model (Logical Regression) to anticipate whether a news on social media will be named as REAL or FAKE. With this undertaking we are attempting to get high exactness and furthermore decrease an opportunity to distinguish the Fake News.

These days' internet based life is generally utilized as the source of data due to its simple to get to. Even so, it also has negative side because of the wide extension of fake news, i.e. news with misleading information. The issue has been drawn nearer in this paper from Natural Language Processing and Machine Learning points of view. To discover whether the news is fake and genuine is a difficult task. The truth of any statement often cannot be assessed by computers alone, so efforts depend on collaboration between humans and technology characterizes hundreds of popular fake and real news measured by shares, likes reactions, and comments, emoticons on Social Media from two ways: headlines and content. Various algorithms are proposed to detect fake news based on different features, domains and type of news. We propose a Gradient Boosting classifier that captures real time dataset process it and which identifies sentiment efficiently. This approach improves performance of system by increasing accuracy, precision, F-score Performances of different machine learning algorithms in terms of accuracies and F1 scores are compared. The motivation behind the exploring work is to come up with a solution that can be utilized by individuals to detect and filter out sites containing false and misleading information. We compared different algorithms with our proposed system and it gives best result out of them.

The project comes up with the applications of Machine Learning Technique to generate optimal model which is used to detect the fake news, spreading day by day in our life . Due to its potential to have major negative social, national, and international repercussions, fake news on social media and other media is pervasive and of serious concern. There has been a lot of study done already to try to find it. In order to choose the optimum machine learning model, this study analyses the research on the identification of fake news. In this machine learning model we Use the Python Scikit-Learn package to tokenize and extract features from text data because it has helpful tools like the count vectorizer and tiff vectorizer. In order to create a model of a product with the supervised machine learning algorithm where some data will be train and then after their training some sub-data will be tested for the required result, whether it is true or false. Our machine learning model will very appropriate to test the given news input.

Digital media consumption has been increased exponentially after the introduction of smartphones. Now, most of the data has been uploaded online, newspapers have become news blogs and there has been increased data consumption ever since this internet boom. The easy dissemination of information by way of sharing has exponentially increased its falsification. The credibility of the data that we consume through different apps and online blogs is also on stake due to its prevalent nature. Thus, it is necessary to filter out the data that is verified and is authenticated. Here, we provide some approaches through which we can measure or provide the credibility of the data to the users. We are using a source of input which is analyzed by our model and the model determines the category in which that particular news belong to, i.e., fake or authentic. Many techniques such as Bag of words, lemmatization, logistic regression, NLP are used. The proposed scheme obtains competitive results taking fake news detection into account. The empirical outcome shows the adopted method is elementary and productive.
