The ‘Clean Energy’ narrative is so filled with false assumptions it would be laughable if not for its wide spread acceptance in society at large. The following is an explanation of where the narrative has missed the mark. I hope you enjoy the read. Please feel free to comment.

Introduction: Energy plays a fundamental role in modern society, powering our homes, industries, and transportation systems. However, the production, consumption, and extraction of energy sources can have significant environmental and health impacts. Understanding these impacts is crucial for developing sustainable energy solutions and mitigating the negative consequences. This document aims to explore the principal environmental and health impacts associated with various energy sources and technologies. Analysing the impacts of fossil fuels, renewable sources, and energy-efficiency technologies is becoming more necessary. Strategies to reduce the negative impacts of energy production and consumption are also discussed. Finally, we provide recommendations for improving energy sustainability. This paper will evaluate the economic, social, and environmental benefits of different energy sources and technologies. The role of policies promoting the use of renewable resources is also discussed. Finally, we compare the different options and their implications.

All Electricity Poisons Planet Earth YES . . . Even Renewables . . . This is NOT How We Get Electric Power The Planet Suffers Every Time We Use Electricity As much pollution . . .Globally . . . As All the Cars, Trucks, Trains and Planes – Combined! Let’s Examine the Scientific Facts . . . Why is the science pointing to myths and false propaganda surrounding electricity and electric cars suppressed? Does the science somehow hurt the Environmental Movement? Does the science explaining the high environmental cost from producing, distributing and storing electricity hurt anyone? Why is there such a reluctance to publish the scientific facts explaining the high environmental damage caused by producing, transmitting and storing electricity and driving Electric Cars? Knowledge is essential in making informed decisions. So much false data and misleading information is wrapped up in the ‘propaganda’ promoting electric cars and the ‘Emissions Free’ myth. The simple math and scientific facts that dispute this propaganda is not climate-denial or anti-environmentalism. It is just simple science that everybody should know. Hidden truths surrounding electricity and the Embodied Energy it contains must be understood. Wishful thinking about cleaning up the air we breathe is very good. However, we have been falsely led to believe the ‘Zero Emissions’ mantra about electricity and electric cars, we never hear about the science pointing to the environmental destruction caused by producing, transmitting and storing electricity. “The Embodied energy” leading to environmental destruction remains unspoken, but it is, very, very real. Where does electricity come from? Global Sources of Electricity - International Energy Agency – 2019 66% of electricity produced comes from burning fossil fuels. 79% is non-renewable. (fossil fuels + nuclear). Using electricity is presented as having ‘zero emissions. The place where electricity is consumed does indeed have no emissions but that electricity was generated somewhere and globally it ALL has an environmental impact. The result is more environmental poison not less. Cities may have cleaner air, but the planet gets more polluted. All energy production machines are about 35% efficient, including cars, trucks and power generating stations - physics 101. “The efficiency of power plants like nuclear, coal-fired or natural gas turbines. These technologies are based on a thermodynamic cycle, that efficiency is in the order of 35%. Cars, trucks, trains, planes, power generating stations and engines of all kinds start at about 35% efficiency. Transmission losses and charging inefficiencies make it go down up to 31% more from there. Total GHG Emissions in 2018 = 6,677 Million Metric Tons of CO2 equivalent. Percentages add up to 99% due to independent rounding. EPA tracks total U.S. emissions by publishing the Inventory of U.S. Greenhouse Gas Emissions and Sinks. 27% GHG’s are released making electricity . . . How will increasing GHG’s producing Electricity for a cleaner environment and for Electric Cars save the Environment?? An honest question!! 79% of Global electric supply is non-renewable. 17% comes from hydro, 4% from wind, solar and renewables combined. Renewable or clean/green electric energy is said to be - emissions free . . . Not by a long shot! . . . For starters, 40% of the cost of building a Hydro dam is spent burning fossil fuels today. Running diesel-powered heavy machinery, moving earth, making reinforcing steel, producing concrete, building turbines and running the heavy machinery used to build those dams. More again is spent on steel for transmission towers and yet more on aluminum transmission lines. “Concrete and steel together account for 14.7% of global carbon dioxide emission.” https://www.corporateknights.com/channels/climateand-carbon/getting-carbon-concrete-steel-15869448/ We must recognise the environmental destruction caused by building these dams and running transmission lines through natural habitats to cities where we all live and work. We must not forget the 10,000 caribou that perished in Quebec because the James Bay hydro project blocked migration routes for the largest migrating heard of Caribou in North America. This is not clean energy! Where is the outrage? This can not be swept under the rug! All energy production has a toxic environmental cost. New York Times, Montreal Gazette, CBC TV – 1984 Renewables . . .One wind turbine contains 800 lbs. of Neo-Dymium Boron. More radiation is released making these rare-earth magnets in Mongolia, where 80% of global demand is produced, than all the nuclear reactors in the USA, combined, each year. As one environmentalist told the Daily Mail, “There is not one step of the rare earth mining process that is not disastrous for the environment.” “Wood is currently the largest contributor to this renewable energy target, accounting for as much as 45 percent of all renewable energy consumed”. https://www.wri.org/blog/2017/12/insider-why-burning-trees-energyharms-climate#:~:text We cut down forests and burn the wood as ‘biomass’ in North America and Europe and call it renewable energy – Why? Trees are the #1 contributor to removing CO2 from the air we all breath! Those forests take more than 100 years to regrow. Wind turbines are described as clean / green technology and renewable, on paper, but that is not even remotely true. The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) banned the radioactive waste from producing these rare earth magnets in the USA, where it was invented by General Dynamics’ more than 30 years ago. Also, neo-dymium boron magnets are what drive the engines in the so called ‘Emissions free’ electric cars. Will electric cars end pollution? No! Sadly, pollution has just been moved out of site and out of mind to places like off in the Chinese wilderness where it is not seen and un-spoken. Again, we need to learn the science first! . . . All pollution must be eradicated, not just CO2. Exciting the electrons inside a battery releases heat. From the generating station, be it wind turbine, coal fired or a nuclear power plant – Up to 15% in transmission and 16% or more charging the car batteries. Look at Three (3) machines with Electric engines and see how they compare Diesel generator on board 100 % of energy produced Gets to engine Diesel generator on board 100 % of energy produced Gets to engine Coal - Hydro - Nuclear powered generator 70 % of energy produced gets to engine 30 % is lost heating the planet These Trucks and Trains also have electric motors turning those wheels . . . Why is this knowledge not broadly known! Who keeps this from reaching the public? Why are we not told? Who gains from this misinformation? The Media and Governments must step up and dispel the illusions and false information disseminated by propagandists, profiteers and self-interested advocacy groups who promote Electric Cars and Electrification in general. Furthermore, why do governments give rebates for buying Electric Cars that waste so much energy? Electric cars are burning up to 31% more energy, Globally, for every kilometer driven compared to gasoline or diesel vehicles. Not a reduction in fuel consumption, Not Emissions Free. Not some panacea to save the world from pollution. Just another trick to fool the mases into believing in Energy Free Magic. Technology and charging efficiencies have improved enough to make competition possible for electric car makers . . . Electricity remains highly inefficient as an energy source for cars . . . Some day when we can produce electricity 'on-board' from a new source of energy, things may change. Until then, electric cars are little more than sleight of hand delivered by magicians selling a dream to believers in the myth of energy conservation falsely implied for drivers of electric cars . . . Prezados(as) alunos(as), Sejam bem-vindos a este semestre! A proposta de Produção Textual Interdisciplinar em Grupo (PTG) terá como temática FazenTECH . Escolhemos esta temática para possibilitar a aprendizagem interdisciplinar dos conteúdos desenvolvidos nas disciplinas desse semestre. ORIENTAÇÕES DA PRODUÇÃO TEXTUAL 1. Formação dos grupos • O trabalho será realizado em GRUPOS composto por no mínimo 2 alunos e máximo de 7 alunos. • A formação dos grupos é de responsabilidade dos alunos; no entanto, solicitamos que sigam as orientações passadas pelo tutor sobre a formação dos grupos. O tutor presencial cadastra os grupos. Importante: somente o líder do grupo conseguirá cadastrar o trabalho na área restrita. • A produção textual é um trabalho original e, portanto, não poderá haver trabalhos idênticos ao de outros alunos ou grupos. • O líder do grupo deve postar o trabalho na pasta específica (na pasta atividades interdisciplinares) obedecendo o prazo limite de postagem conforme disposto no cronograma do curso. Não existe prorrogação para a postagem da atividade. • É importante que você leia os materiais disponíveis das disciplinas do semestre; • Além da pesquisa nos materiais das disciplinas, lembre-se de que a Biblioteca Digital tem excelentes obras que tratam dos temas propostos. Leitura e interpretação da SGA Para atingir os objetivos desta produção textual, vocês deverão seguir as instruções voltadas a elaboração do trabalho disponibilizadas ao longo do semestre, sob a orientação do Tutor a Distância, considerando as disciplinas norteadoras. A participação na consecução da proposta é fundamental para que haja o pleno desenvolvimento de competências e habilidades requeridas em sua atuação profissional. Nessa produção textual deverá então ser considerado o caso hipotético apresentado na sequência. CONTEXTUALIZAÇÃO Situação geradora de aprendizagem (SGA) “FazenTECH” Certa manhã, ao clarear, num dia de céu limpo, neta e avô saem da cidade para um passeio “despretensioso”. A neta, muito curiosa, mas confiante porque há mais de 15 anos, faz passeios ou alguma programação com o avô, diz: - Vô, você está indo em direção à fazenda da família, faz tanto tempo que não vamos para lá, estou com saudade! Ele fica quieto, continua dirigindo tranquilo como sempre, apenas dá um sorriso empático e pensa: parece que ela já sabe meus propósitos. Chegando, já dentro das terras, ela faz um registro, foto, (com o carro em movimento mesmo) e pensou: quero me lembrar desse dia nesse local melancólico e, ao mesmo tempo, tão próspero. Nessa hora, o vô parou o carro e disse: - Minha querida Lúcia, você está vendo essa terra, bem já conhece tudo aqui e vim pra te mostrar que a partir de hoje você é a herdeira. Ah, a documentação está toda pronta, fique tranquila! Agora que você sabe como tudo começou, vai ajudar Lúcia a realizar o seu sonho. Entenda o cenário no qual irá projetar e desenvolver os sistemas necessários na FazenTECH. PRODUÇÃO TEXTUAL INTERDISCIPLINAR EM GRUPO- PTG Tecnologia em Análise e Desenvolvimento de Sistemas Aproveitando a história familiar e considerando o cenário mundial buscando, cada vez mais, a sustentabilidade, estrategicamente a FazenTECH deve manter o objetivo em: preservação e otimização dos recursos, gerar produtos e serviços inovadores e proporcionar satisfação e equilíbrio aos envolvidos. Portanto, a idealizadora está investindo, na fase de planejamento e preparação dos negócios, em Tecnologia da Informação e em modelos de processos para que as áreas de pesquisa, desenvolvimento, produção e comercialização funcionem com o máximo de rotinas informatizadas e procedimentos automatizados. Lúcia pretende criar um empreendimento sustentável implantando negócios diversificados, onde uma cultura colabora com outra otimizando os recursos, ao mesmo, pretende investir em tecnologia avançada, tais como: • Utilizar o sistema de plantio direto permitindo a conservação do solo e da água. • Aplicar técnicas do consórcio de culturas e da rotação de culturas, de acordo com uma análise minuciosa e criteriosa do solo para aproveitar a recuperação, acompanhando os níveis de carbono/nitrogênio. Técnica de fabricação de mudas, de polinização, etc. • Manter a fertilidade do solo através da integração lavoura, pecuária e floresta, inclusive melhorando em produtividade. • Medir e controlar a qualidade da produção e do produto: leite, queijo, fruta, peixe, pele de peixe, café, soja, milheto, carnes, ovos, shitake, carneiro, cordeiro, mel, frutas, verduras e legumes entre outros. • Criar uma cultura de troca de conhecimento e experiência entre produtores afins, com a sociedade e com o governo. • Preservar os recursos hídricos, nascentes, erosão do solo, entre outros. Tendo a certeza das ótimas soluções que irá propor, a Lúcia está confiante em seu conhecimento e habilidade em Tecnologia da Informação e desenvolvimento de software. Vamos ao trabalho! Sabendo que Lúcia tem a visão da sustentabilidade, criando sempre uma sinergia entre as culturas que estão em planejamento ou em plena produção, você deve descrever um processo que norteará e facilitará a implementação dessa premissa. PRODUÇÃO TEXTUAL INTERDISCIPLINAR EM GRUPO- PTG Tecnologia em Análise e Desenvolvimento de Sistemas Para que consiga elaborar esse processo de maneira assertiva, vamos aos dois pontos fundamentais: a) considerar que uma cultura agrícola (ex: plantio de frutas) poderá ter uma boa combinação com a apicultura, pois na polinização as abelhas auxiliarão com eficiência para aumentar a produção de laranja (ou outra fruta); b) com base nos princípios da gestão do conhecimento, apresentado por Nonaka e Takeuchi e demais especialistas, descreva a importância da cultura organizacional nesse processo, na continuidade da pesquisa e, principalmente, na prática da criação do conhecimento. O material (produção textual) a ser elaborado deverá prever a interação das múltiplas equipes responsáveis pela sua cultura e produção, citando os tipos de conhecimentos que favorecem na obtenção dos anseios de Lúcia, bem como a prática a Taxonomia do conhecimento, dos capitais do conhecimento e demais áreas que considerar relevantes. 2) Fundamentos de Redes de Computadores Vamos dimensionar a rede de computadores necessária para Lucia fazer toda a modernização de sua fazenda? Descreva a rede em detalhes, o porquê você fez a escolha e suas características, como: a)Meio de transmissão – camada física b) Protocolo de rede usado; c) Rede de alta velocidade usada. 3) Tópicos Especiais em Desenvolvimento de Sistemas Uma das principais fontes de renda da fazenda de Lúcia é a venda do que ela produz, como o leite, legumes, verduras, entre outros produtos. Com a informatização da fazenda, tudo está ligado a um sistema robusto, capaz de gerenciar cada atividade e produções da fazenda, como por exemplo, controlar seus produtos e estoques. Lúcia vende em atacado para grandes varejistas, de forma tradicional, porém ela gostaria de expandir o negócio, e começar a oferecer seus produtos ao consumidor final! Para este fim, ela precisa de um aplicativo mobile para que os consumidores possam visualizar todo seu catálogo de produtos, efetuar seus pedidos, pagar e agendar a entrega. PRODUÇÃO TEXTUAL INTERDISCIPLINAR EM GRUPO- PTG Tecnologia em Análise e Desenvolvimento de Sistemas Sua tarefa é desenvolver este aplicativo, que inicialmente funcionará apenas em dispositivos Android. Mas antes de chegar ao produto que será disponibilizado aos usuários, você precisa desenvolver uma espécie de protótipo funcional, com uma interface próxima à final, e contendo as principais funcionalidades e recursos, mas sem se preocupar ainda com métodos de pagamento ou a comunicação com o servidor e banco de dados da fazenda.
