This study submits that Edwin Thiele’s date of 931/30 BC for the division of the Hebrew kingdom is doubtful for two reasons: (1) the Bible’s internal chronology contradicts it, and (2) the Assyrian synchronism on which it is based—the battle of Qarqar in 853 BC—is wrongly dated. This is because of a five-year gap in the Assyrian Eponym Canon between 770 and 769 BC, where there is telling evidence of missing eponyms. After repairing this gap, the division of the kingdom redates to 936/35 BC. This higher date fits both the Biblical data and revised Assyrian data.

Although much has been written about monumental architecture from the Iberian period, the aspects referring to its production remain largely unknown. In this paper we offer a synthesis of this subject, divided into two distinct but complementary parts. The first is devoted to analysing the production process from the moment the monument is conceived to its completion. The second is devoted to the complex question of the workshops and craftsmen involved in this process. Despite the inevitable theoretical-descriptive nature of the syntesis, numerous Iberian cases are included that shed light on numerous aspects of monumental production. It also offers methodological reflections on how archaeology can help us to delve deeper into these aspects. The aim is for the work to serve as the state of the art in this field and as a basis on which to reflect methodologically and lay the foundations for future work.

The objective of this work is to propose the use of didactic material, to facilitate the teaching and learning of orthogonal projections in the international system. Virtual files of the projection planes are created: front, left side and bottom; as well as those corresponding to three versions of the same geometric entity: point, line, area and solid. The frontal plane is fixed, and the left side and bottom are restricted with respect to it allowing its rotation to coplanar all three. In the assembly of the projection planes, versions 1, 2 and 3 of the same geometric entity are inserted; each one respectively including its frontal, right lateral and superior projections; such versions are restricted with respect to the frontal, left side and bottom plane. The restrictions between the projection planes and between them and the versions of the same geometric entity allow the animation of the assembly, showing the solution of the problem that involves representing a three-dimensional ...

Accounting information system is an absolute tool in the hands of managers striving to remain in a competitive advantage amidst the rapid technological advancement, increased awareness and challenging demands from customers and business owners. This review examines the effect of accounting information system on financial performance of firms. The main objective is to review conceptual and theoretical foundations as well as empirical literature relating to accounting information system and financial performance of firms. Findings from the review reveals that past studies on effect of accounting information on financial performance limitedly aligned their works to the cost implication of accounting information system as it relates to financial performance of firms. This review also found that most of the studies employed the use of survey research design to examine this relationship and majority of the studies were carried out in advanced economies where computerized accounting system...
Debates around the issues of knowledge of, and for, social work and other social justice-oriented professions are not uncommon. More prevalent are the discussions around the ways by which social work knowledge is obtained. In recent years, social work scholars have drawn on the epistemology of pragmatism to present a case for its value in the creation of knowledge for social work and other social justice-oriented professions. The primary focus of this essay is on providing a critical review and synthesis of the literature regarding pragmatism as a research paradigm. In this essay, we analyze the major philosophical underpinnings and methodological challenges associated with pragmatism, synthesize the works of scholars who have contributed to the understanding of pragmatism as a research paradigm, articulate our thoughts about how pragmatism fits within social work research, and illustrate how it is linked to the pursuit of social justice. This article brings together a variety of perspectives to argue that pragmatism has the potential to closely engage and empower marginalized and oppressed communities and provide hard evidence for the macro level discourse.
Ayurveda-Basic Concepts Ayurveda is an ancient medicine system of the Indian subcontinent. It is said to have originated in India about 5000 years back. The word Ayurveda is a conjugation of two Sanskrit words 'ayus', meaning 'life' and 'veda', meaning 'science', thus ayurveda literally means the 'science of life'. Unlike other medicinal systems, Ayurveda focuses more on healthy living than treatment of diseases. The main concept of Ayurveda is that it personalizes the healing process. According to Ayurveda, the human body is composed of four basics-the dosha, dhatu, mala and agni. There is immense significance of all these basics of the body in Ayurveda. These are also called the 'Mool Siddhant' or the 'basic fundamentals of Ayurvedic treatment'. Dosha The three vital principles of doshas are vata, pitta and kapha, which together regulate and control the catabolic and anabolic metabolism. The main function of the three doshas is to carry the byproduct of digested foods throughout the body, which helps in building up the body tissues. Any malfunction in these doshas causes disease. Dhatu Dhatu can be defined as one, which supports the body. There are seven tissue systems in the body. They are as Rasa, Rakta, Mamsa, Meda, Asthi, Mjja and Shukra which represent the plasma, blood, muscle, fat tissue, bone, bone marrow and semen respectively. Dhatus only provide the basic nutrition to the body and it helps in the growth and structure of mind. Mala Mala means waste products or dirty. It is third in the trinity of the body i.e. doshas and dhatu. There are three main types of malas, e.g. stool, urine and sweat. Malas are mainly the waste products of the body so their proper excretion from the body is essential to maintain the proper health of the individual. There are mainly two aspects of mala i.e. mala and kitta. Mala is about waste products of the body whereas kitta is all about the waste products of dhatus. Agni All kinds of metabolic and digestive activity of the body takes place with the help of the biological fire of the body called Agni. Agni can be termed as the various enzymes present in the elementary canal, liver and the tissue cells. The Body Matrix Life in Ayurveda is conceived as the union of body, senses, mind and soul. The living man is a conglomeration of three humours (Vata, Pitta & Kapha), seven basic tissues (Rasa, Rakta, Mansa, Meda, Asthi, Majja & Shukra) and the waste products of the body such as faeces, urine and sweat. Thus the total body matrix comprises of the humours, the tissues and the waste products of the body. The growth and decay of this body matrix and its constituents revolve around food which gets processed into humours, tissues and wastes. Ingestion, digestion, absorption, assimilation and metabolism of food have an interplay in health and disease which are significantly affected by psychological mechanisms as well as by bio-fire (Agni). Panchamahabhutas According to Ayurveda all objects in the universe including human body are composed of five basic elements (Panchamahabhutas) namely, earth, water, fire, air and vacuum (ether). There is a balanced condensation of these elements in different proportions to suit the needs and requirements of different structures and functions of the body matrix and its parts. The growth and development of the body matrix depends on its nutrition, i.e. on food. The food, in turn, is composed of the above five elements, which replenish or nourish the like elements of the body after the action of
