Την τελευταία εικοσαετία του 19ου αιώνα δημιουργήθηκαν στη μεσσηνιακή πρωτεύουσα -από την ιδιωτική πρωτοβουλία- νεωτερικοί θεσμοί οικονομικού χαρακτήρα (Ταμιευτήρια, Αλληλοβοηθητικές Τράπεζες) κατά τα πρότυπα της δυτικής Ευρώπης (Schulze Delitzsch, Reiffstein). Η έρευνα εντόπισε τρεις θεσμούς τέτοιου είδους: την Αλληλοβοηθητική Τράπεζα «η Αβία» (1884), την Εταιρεία του Λαού ο «Μεσσηνιακός Σύνδεσμος» (1884) και το Μεσσηνιακόν Ταμιευτήριον ο «Δαφνών» (1896). Οι συγκεκριμένες συσσωματώσεις φιλοδόξησαν μέσω των οικονομικών τους εργασιών (καταθέσεις, δάνεια, επενδύσεις) να επιλύσουν προβλήματα των εταίρων τους και να καλλιεργήσουν σε αυτούς και την τοπική κοινωνία ένα κοινά αποδεκτό αξιακό σύστημα, το οποίο θα περιελάμβανε την εργασία, την πρόοδο, την εργατικότητα, τη φειδώ, την αποταμίευση, την αλληλεγγύη, τη συνεργατικότητα, την προσήλωση στην οικογένεια κλπ. Υπό αυτή την έννοια η μύηση των εργατών στο εν λόγω αξιακό σύστημα θεωρείτο -σύμφωνα με τις αντιλήψεις της εποχής- η καλύτερη προσφορά των μεσαίων και ανωτέρω στρωμάτων της Καλαμάτας στους εργατικούς κύκλους της πόλης, καθώς οι τελευταίοι θα βασίζονταν πλέον στις δικές τους δυνάμεις και δεν θα ανέμεναν τη διαρκή υλική και ηθική προσφορά των υπολοίπων κοινωνικών ομάδων. Όσο για την προσφορά χαμηλότοκων δανείων στα μέλη των σωματείων -και όχι μόνο-, αυτή αποσκοπούσε στην εξασφάλιση της αναγκαίας οικονομικής ρευστότητας που χρειαζόταν η μεσσηνιακή οικονομία στα τέλη του 19ου αιώνα και στον περιορισμό των τοκογλυφικών δράσεων. Τα διοικητικά επίσης συμβούλια των σωματείων, που αποτελούνταν από άτομα κυρίως του εμπορικού κόσμου, θέλησαν να καλλιεργήσουν στα μέλη τους και τους υπόλοιπους Καλαματιανούς την ιδεολογία τους για τον αστικό βίο, την ηθική, το κοινωνικό καθήκον, την κοινωνική συνοχή, την εθνική ταυτότητα, σε μια προσπάθεια να διαμορφώσουν συμπεριφορές ικανές να αποτρέψουν επικίνδυνες εξελίξεις και κοινωνικές ανατροπές. Η βραχύβια, τέλος, δράση των εξεταζόμενων θεσμών καταδεικνύει ότι η ανταπόκριση των κατοίκων της Καλαμάτας σε αυτούς, αλλά και η επίδραση των θεσμών στην καθημερινότητα των μελών τους δεν υπήρξε η αναμενόμενη.

Σκοπός της εργασίας είναι η μελέτη της επίδρασης στις φορτίσεις στη μόνιμη επένδυση μιας σήραγγας εξαιτίας της κατασκευής μιας δεύτερης εντός της ζώνης αλληλεπίδρασης.

The present brief review examines the interrelationships between social factors and children’s as well as adolescents’ mental health by looking mostly at the real social and material conditions of their development. The review stems from the sociological theories of social capital (Coleman, 1988), of social disorganization (Sampson & Laub, 1994), and from psycho-social theories of family strain model (Conger & Elder, 1994), and of the psychological sense of community (McMillan & Chavis, 1986). international empirical evidence is presented concerning with the fields of primary and secondary socialization of children and adolescents. This evidence shows that the stable material wellness, intimate and community social bonds, the sense of place together with the sense of psychological community constitute critical factors and processes that influence strongly the social and psychological health of children and adolescents.

The Greek marble quarrying industry is characterised by its rich history, its long term sustainability and by the reputation of its products in the international market. The quarrying operations of ornamental and building stones, in case of non-implementation of prevention measures and measures for the protection of the safety and health of workers, have a high degree of risk, which proves the inextricable link between the viability of the industry and the wider field of occupational safety and health. The object of the present diploma thesis is the analysis of this connection through the combination of bibliographic and research approach. The first chapter provides a historical overview, firstly of the broader field of occupational safety and health and then of the field of metallurgy and mining technology, and introduces basic concepts of safety and health in the mining sector. In the second chapter, certain aspects of safety and health are analysed in depth, Greek and international data are presented and the correlation of the health and safety sector with the principles of sustainable development is studied. In the third chapter, the marble industry, as well as the exploitation methods and the performance indicators of the Greek industry are elaborately presented. The fourth chapter categorises and describes the main types of hazards encountered in marble quarries. The fifth chapter attempts to present a series of findings from studies carried out in countries outside the European Union regarding the hazards associated with working in marble quarries. The sixth chapter introduces the data collection methodology regarding the performance indicators of the Greek marble quarries, while the seventh chapter presents and analyses the answers obtained from the above method. The epilogue of the thesis is presented in the eighth chapter, through the conclusions and the proposal for future research involving the safety and health management in marble quarries.
