There are two fantasies building up the collective unconsciousness of the West today. One is the fantasy of the ultimate recovery of the ‘humanized’ planet – a fantasy of a return to Paradise. The other is the fantasy of Noah’s Ark – the beginning of space imperialism. The function of both is, of course, to cover the real with the phantasmal shield, for life in space is far from being possible and likewise a recovery of the humanity-friendly conditions on Earth. We might suggest, though, that these two fantasies point to the emerging class division of the 21st Century: the few who can count on the space asylum, and the rest who cannot – spacemen and earthlings. Masters and slaves. With turning life into a product, which is the nearing ultimate goal of the biotechnological revolution, the space masters are trying to rise above death as a sorrowful determination of the existent things, and, with this, also above the very dialectic of life and death. They aspire to transcend life as a living thing by taking it in hand, by technically managing it, and to become, not only symbolically but also physically, the masters of life as a substance. But they essentially fail.

Die unmittelbar von geologischen und mittelbar von kulturellen Faktoren vorgegebene ungleiche Zugänglichkeit zu Ressourcen hat schon früh wirtschaftsarchäologische und wirtschaftsgeschichtliche Thesen zur generellen Entstehung sozialer Ungleichheiten angeregt. So gilt noch häufig der Besitz von Ressourcen, im Sinne einer exklusiven Zugänglichkeit zu ihnen, als gewissermaßen natürliche Quelle von Reichtum und somit als wichtiger Faktor in der Entwicklung hin zu zunehmend sozialer Ungleichheit. Ist diese These haltbar? Im Vortrag wird auf Grundlage des laufenden "Big Exchange"‐Projektes die Fragestellung insbesondere für Steinrohmaterialien näher beleuchtet. Zur Verfügung stehen unterschiedliche Austauschnetzwerke aus ganz Europa und aus der Zeit von 8.000 bis 1 vor unserer Zeitrechnung. Diese Netzwerke werden anhand von mehreren Millionen Funden rekonstruiert und gesamthaft analytisch betrachtet. Im Vortrag wird ein neues Modell der Rohmaterialversorgung für die Zeit der altneolithischen Bandkeramik vorgestellt, das kulturelle Faktoren weit stärker gewichtet als dies bislang möglich war. Auch das Wechselspiel zwischen Steinrohmaterialien und frühem Metall im entwickelten Neolithikum zeigt unerwartete Ergebnisse. Im Laufe des Projektes sollen diese Netzwerke präziser beschrieben und mit Mitteln der Künstlichen Intelligenz (KI) auf wiederkehrende Muster hin untersucht werden.

The complete pullulanase gene (amyB) from Thermoanaerobacterium thermosulfurigenes EM1 was cloned in Escherichia coli, and the nucleotide sequence was determined. The reading frame of amyB consisted of 5,586 bp encoding an exceptionally large enzyme of 205,991 Da. Sequence analysis revealed a composite structure of the pullulanase consisting of catalytic and noncatalytic domains. The N-terminal half of the protein contained a leader peptide of 35 amino acid residues and the catalytic domain, which included the four consensus regions of amylases. Comparison of the consensus regions of several pullulanases suggested that enzymes like pullulanase type II from T. thermosulfurigenes EM1 which hydrolyze alpha-1,4- and alpha-1,6-glycosidic linkages have specific amino acid sequences in the consensus regions. Work absenteeism is considered one of the problems that negatively influence production, it is manifested by various causes: physical, mental, labor and social. For this work a systematic review and analysis of different national and international research papers was carried out, through of the Dialnet, SciELO, World Wide Science, finding a total of 44 articles. Finally, 10 national citations and 10 international citations that met the selection criteria were included. Finding that 100% (20) of the jobs mention that work absenteeism generates a reduction in the level of productivity, low quality of care, work stress, among others. 50% (10) of selected jobs, indicate as main causes of absenteeism health problems, accidents at work, maternity leave and personal leave. Of the total works analyzed, 20% (4) refer to the economic impact generated by absenteeism. We suggest a later timeline for full language capabilities in Homo sapiens, placing the emergence of language over 200,000 years after the emergence of our species. The late Paleolithic period saw several significant changes. Homo sapiens became more gracile and gradually lost significant brain volumes. Detailed realistic cave paintings disappeared completely, and iconic/symbolic ones appeared at other sites. This may indicate a shift in perceptual abilities, away from an accurate perception of the present. Language in modern humans interact with vision. One example is the McGurk effect.
