The benevolent gods created this pleasant and peaceful ideal site, in which the souls waited to be called to go back to their former homes and visit their relatives on particular, traditionally defined, days. After the arrival of Catholicism the new customs were merged with the indigenous resulting in a mixture of Christian and Prehispanic customs and beliefs.
