Existing facilities and structures from the station’s ground level access point, the RÉSO and to the Métro’s train platform were audited based on three types of impairments which include wheel chair users, women with child strollers and those with visual impairments. Results show that several facilities within the Metro stations linked to the RÉSO pose challenges to the three types of users. The paper concludes with recommendations that would improve use and access to the Métro and the underground city that could benefit not only to those who experience impairments but also to the general public.
