In this article we present a generic auditing concept for e-government projects as well as a mapping to the governance methods used in the Swiss Federal Administration for IT project management. Research shows the existence of diverse challenges that deter effective and efficient IT auditing in e-government.

In this paper,... more The complexity of IT management within public administration indicates the need for structuring risks. In this paper, the business IT alignment model by Henderson & Venkatraman (1993) is adapted to risk management in e-government. Risks occur along the boundaries of strategic and operative units of public administration and IT organization. These boundaries challenge the alignment of these units. Thus, questions arise with respect to IT risk management and its implementation in e-government.
