La problemática principal puede expresarse en la pregunta: ¿Qué se puede responder ante las dificultades que plantea Sexto? Para contestar defenderé dos tesis. Primero, que este tipo de escepticismo es irresoluble. Segundo, que, aunque no hay solución posible, existe una forma general de contestar sin contradecirse, caer en una recurrencia al infinito o convertirse en escéptico.

Many philosophers have challenged the problem of skepticism. I
argue that none of them successfully dispute the system established by Sextus Empiricus. But not just that; my main thesis is that this kind of skepticism is unsolvable. I maintain that there are two fundamental strategies in Sextus' 'Outlines of Phyrrhonism'. One of them is that the basic description of skepticism has a paradoxical character. The other focuses on the Five Modes of Agrippa that comprise a system of dialectical moves for suspending judgment. The modes have, as a system, the capacity to reposition in any circumstance, so it is impossible to justify to the skeptic why he needs to abandon his skepticism.
I explain, in brief, why the most important objections to skepticism do not solve this challenge. In opposition to common view, I argue that phyrrhonism is practicable, coherent and consistent. Although there is no possible solution to skepticism, there is at least a general way to answer it without contradiction, infinite regress or becoming a skeptic.

This... more Terms for consciousness, used with a cognitive meaning, emerged as count nouns in the 17th century. This transformation repeats an evolution that had taken place in late antiquity, when related vocabulary, used in the sense of conscience, went from being mass nouns designating states to count nouns designating faculties possessed by every individual. The reified concept of consciousness resulted from the rejection of the Scholastic-Aristotelian theory of mind according to which the mind is not a countable thing, but a pure potentiality. This rejection was motivated by an acute sense of the mind’s fallible subjectivity. While conditioned by recent historical events, the 17th century’s pervasive sense of subjectivity also reveals a heavy debt to Hellenistic philosophy, which had been recently rediscovered. But whereas Hellenistic thought, mistrustful of theoria, only reifies conscience, early modern thinking, more mistrustful of praxis and seeking its grounding in theoria, goes a step further and reifies consciousness.

The Principles of the Stoics, God and Matter, were considered by them to be bodies. The textual evidence for this cannot be doubted. However, this position makes their account of the incorporeality of space and void, indeed their distinction between body and space itself, incoherent.
