In order to better understand the complexities and technological requirements of digital humanities scholarship, it is helpful to define levels of technological achievement of our students within the field.
For example, can I say that my student is “technologically proficient” if he or she can use a word processing program, or do I want to require my student to achieve at a higher level?
If I want my student to achieve at a higher level, what level is that, and how is that level defined?
In order to answer these questions, I have devised this six-point scale for student achievement in the field of digital humanities.
