I began writing in a creative nonfiction workshop from memory fragments, diary entries, interviews and scholarly research (Chang, 2008) recognizing the story contained secrets (Poulos, 2009), omissions, places where I can’t remember, and places that are still in shadow that ethically need to stay closed (Rappert, 2010). The use of creative nonfiction frames the story as a series of marginalized discourses from a relational dialectics perspective, in particular ambivalence (versus certainty), bodily knowledge (versus medicalization, versus middle class pregnancy), and flux (versus cost-benefit ratios). The problem is that these marginalized discourses are not well represented in the totalizing picture of the pregnant lady. My story works as a performance text to transform totalizing oppressive discourse into a restructured aesthetic moment (Denzin, 2003).

Abstract
This paper has a double purpose: 1) On one hand, to reread and provide a definition of nonfiction, as well as to review the concept as understood by the concept of narrative structure, reviewing the works by Nichols, Barnouw or Plantinga, among others. 2) On the other hand, the document of nonfiction is considered to be a constructed document and it is therefore formed by narrative structures. This makes not only its location possible, but also setting a genealogy that classifies this genre in function of the narrative structures existing in its narrative scheme.

Tallaght no longer seems an isolated, freakish, and unplanned outgrowth of Dublin; rather it appears as the precursor of a way of building and living that subsequently became the norm in Ireland – an accelerated process in which a new population moves into massive housing developments that have seemingly been dropped at random into mostly untouched terrain. Tallaght was a grand, messy experiment, where the urban implications of modern Ireland were lived out but never fully resolved."
