Thirty-six websites with message boards categorized as either violent ideological, nonviolent ideological, or nonviolent non-ideological were content coded for several distinguishing characteristics. The results indicated that group type was predicted by the type of information presented, the difficulty of becoming a member, and the amount of freedom members had on discussion boards. These findings suggest that characteristics of violent ideological group websites can be used to distinguish them from websites of both nonviolent ideological and non-ideological groups. This study also provides a demonstration of a research methodology that can be used to naturally observe ideological groups via an online setting.

Given the dynamic nature of online communications, traditional methods for studying communications may not suffice. A hybridized content analytic approach that combines qualitative and quantitative methods is suggested as a flexible alternative. The proposed method of content analysis offers a new methodological tool to researchers who seek to better understand computer mediated communications. The proposed content analytic approach is discussed along with methodological considerations associated with the content analysis of online communications. Implementation of the suggested method to online communities is described. Advantages and disadvantages associated with the hybridized approach of content analysis are also considered. Additionally, ethical considerations of sampling from online communications sources are examined.

A quantitative analysis of broadcasted violence by the main television (TV) channels transmitting for Madrid (Spain) was carried
out using a novel method that randomly selects fragments of delimited duration from TV broadcasts. The device selects acts of
aggression shown in those TV extracts, and classifies them according to their type. There was a high incidence of aggressive acts,
especially physical (particularly leading to death), in TV fiction: films, serials and promos. The device also allowed examination of
the prominence of aggression in children’s programs, as well as showing minimal variation in the number of aggressive acts over
screened time intervals. The pattern of the collected data suggests that the broadcasting of violence on TV emphasizes the
conflicting elements of social reality, reproducing it in fiction, news reports and children’s shows.

The study seeks to provide a review in the developments in destination brand effectiveness literature published since 2001. A multi-source search resulted in the identification of 43 relevant papers. Content analysis using multiple classifier variables was conducted providing further insights into specific conceptual and methodological aspects. Conclusions drawn from descriptive analysis pertain to the multidimensional character of the construct, the methodology and context in which destination brand effectiveness has been developed. Through an iterative search, destination branding effectiveness appears as a rapidly conceived concept, borrowed from the traditional branding theory, while the discussion on its definition and operationalization is still in progress and has yet to mature in a multi-disciplinary context. Finally, research outcomes offer DMOs a better understanding on how they should use them in order to evaluate the effectiveness of their destination brand efforts.

The rapid worldwide growth of e-commerce and the resulting great interest on the digital business, caused a proliferation of contributes by academics and practitioners, that identified
by different points of view, the fundamental concepts, codes and functions of e-business models.
The quantity and the variety of approaches adopted made the concept of e-business model fuzzy and vague, with little consensus about its ontology and definition. The relevance of the topic asserts a claim for the classification of contributions as a first step to a general definition of the concept of e-business model. This paper provides an integrated literature review of contemporary academic writings to ascertain and classify the various approaches to the study of e-business models. The literature examined is classified in a content based taxonomy which highlights the relevant characteristics of e-business model, emerging from the analysis of literature. The framework proposed points out some significant implications that are a first step for further research leading to a research agenda for further investigation on this topic.

Empirically based on the content analysis of 17 newspapers from 13 different countries, the paper aims at suggesting a more careful and precise use of the term NIMBY (from Not In My BackYard), in public discourses on local controversies and conflicts. After portraying the general situation of local protests in Italy, it is shown that NIMBY acronym, whose subtle ideological premises are sieved through in the article, is by far the most popular in the international press, despite the quite abundant range of more focused and up-to-date alternatives. An Anglo American literature on nimbism, relatively new for the Italian Social Sciences tradition, is eventually taken into consideration to reveal and critically discuss the tangle of senses, stakes, interests and ideologies of each linguistic label picked out by the newspapers analysis.

Tourist guidebooks provide an important source of information on places. Different guidebooks are written for different types of visitors to better meet their individual travel needs. This is demonstrated through a content analysis of four guidebooks written for Singapore in the early 1980s. Two of the guidebooks represent variations on mainstream, mass travel interests. The third source presents the long-term expatriates perception,
while the fourth source presents the alternative or youth tourist view of Singapore. Urban tourism is shown to be multifaceted, allowing for a diversity of travel motivations, experiences, and behavior.
Keywords: travel literature, urban tourism, content analysis, environmental perception, Singapore.

However, since the 1970s, more women have joined the climbing community and have pushed the limits of difficulty once thought to be unattainable. Although still a minority, women do engage in this athletic endeavor yet receive little or no attention in the media for their successes. Climbing magazine is the longest running and most widely circulated publication in the United States that is dedicated solely to reporting on rock climbing and mountaineering. The purpose of this study was to analyze the way in which female rock climbers are represented in Climbing magazine by investigating the publication‟s feature articles and photographs over a 14-year time period, 1991-2004. Results suggest that the few images and descriptors of female climbers in Climbing work to “normalize” the female climbers as “real” women by emphasizing their heterosexuality and domesticity, highlighting their feminine physique, and infantilizing them as a means to disempower.

Bu amaçla, 1987-2009 yılları arasında ulaşılabilen kaynaklardan, 27'si ulusal, 5'i Web of Science SSCI indeksinde bulunan uluslararası toplam 32 farklı dergide matematik eğitimi alanında yayınlanan toplam 359 makale incelenmiştir.

Article records (N = 94) on childhood ‘gender identity’ and ‘expression’ published between 1999 and 2008 inclusive were evaluated for two kinds of cisgenderism, the ideology that invali- dates or pathologises self-designated genders that contrast with external designations. Misgendering language contradicts children’s own gender assignations and was less frequent than pathologising language which constructs children’s own gender assigna- tions and expression as disordered. Articles on children’s gender identity/expressionare increasingly impactful within psychology. Cisgenderism is neither increasing nor decreasing overall. Mental health professionals are more cisgenderist than other authors. Articles by members of an ‘invisible college’ structured around the most pro- lific author in this area are more cisgenderist and impactful than other articles. We suggest how authors and editors can implement American Psychological Association policy and change scientific discourse about children’s genders.

ABSTRACT
The purpose of this study was to evaluate interaction patterns among twenty (n=20) physical educators (PE) who voluntarily attended an eight week training course using blog, in order to enhance their professional development and their skills in effective teaching; the way they shared and constructed
knowledge together was also a focus of our interest. The asynchronous online discussion between the learners formed the basis for the study. Social network analysis and content analysis were applied to analyze the data. The results showed that interaction patterns between the participants were rather
centralized and network was relatively dense. Moreover, person to person communication was rather high. Content analysis revealed that the discussion was mainly focused on sharing and comparing information, as far as in negotiation and knowledge construction. A significant degree of social presence was established, which indicated that socio-emotional interaction between learners was essential in realizing meaningful and worthwhile educational outcomes.
