The Department of Social and Cultural Sciences invites applications for a tenure track position at the rank of Assistant Professor, beginning August 2011. Applicants should be prepared to contribute primarily to the Sociology major and should be able and willing to teach in more than one of the following areas: Sociology of Health and Illness; Medical Sociology; Aging/Life Course; Political Sociology; Social Change/Movements; Comparative/Historical Sociology; International/Global Sociology. Research specialization open. Applicants should demonstrate excellence in teaching, evidence of scholarly productivity, and a coherent research agenda. Ph.D. strongly preferred, but ABDs will be considered.
The Department of Social and Cultural Sciences offers undergraduate majors in Anthropology, Criminology and Law Studies, Social Welfare and Justice, and Sociology.
