Assistant Professor of Media Arts

The successful candidate should be prepared to implement new integrated undergraduate core curriculum, teach undergraduate courses in Electronic Media, Print/Electronic Journalism and Public Relations, including courses such as Web Design, Web Development, Flash Development, Multimedia Production, Social Media use and optimization, or computer assisted reporting. The ability to participate in the process of developing an undergraduate track in digital game development will be an asset, as will the candidate’s ability to teach and support the Master’s Degree in Digital Game Design with courses in sound, animation or design aspects of that program. Candidates should be familiar with a variety of digital video, audio and related multimedia technology and software (e.g. Flash, Final Cut Pro, Premiere, Avid, Illustrator Sound Forge and Reason. Expertise in HTML5, CSS and ActionScript is expected. Professional experience in the web/electronic media/or digital game design is a plus.

Terminal degree in Media Arts, Multimedia or Interactive Telecommunications (Ph.D. or M.F.A. preferred) with a minimum of three years of demonstrated teaching practice in addition to strong evidence of Assistant/Associate Professor scholarly/artistic publication is required.

Assistant/Associate Professor of Art History/Museum Studies

The successful candidate will teach undergraduate and graduate courses with capacity to initiate an online course of study for a potential program in museum studies and art history. Applicants for this position should be able to teach from a broad cultural comparative and chronological perspective, especially in the area of non-western art, but not excluding general survey courses with familiarity in Ancient, Classical, Medieval, Renaissance, and Baroque periods. Experience in curriculum development and assessment in higher education is an asset in the candidate’s profile. Candidate will be expected to maintain an active program of research and a nine-credit teaching assignment with academic service.

 

Ph.D. with a minimum of three years of demonstrated teaching practice in addition to strong evidence of research and publication is required.

Assistant Professor of Photography

The successful candidate will teach and advise students in undergraduate and graduate photography courses. Candidates must be proficient in digital and traditional photographic technologies including, but not limited to, Adobe Photoshop and Lightroom. Applicants should have the ability to teach the history of photography and color theory for photography. Experience in curriculum development and assessment in higher education is an asset in the candidate’s profile. The successful candidate will be expected to maintain an active exhibition record and a nine-credit teaching assignment with academic service.

 

M.F.A. with a minimum of three years of demonstrated teaching practice in addition to strong evidence of a professional exhibition record is required.
