NEW MEXICO INSTITUTE OF MINING AND TECHNOLOGY seeks applicants for a tenure-track position in its Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) department and Information Technology (IT) program. The department leads the   Center of Academic Excellence in Information Assurance Education and Research certification. Appointments will generally be made at the Assistant Professor level; higher-rank appointments are possible for highly qualified applicants. Candidates must have an earned Ph.D. in CS, IT, Computer Engineering, or a closely related field by the time of appointment and have demonstrated potential for excellence. The ability to conduct research in current areas of CS and IT, teach graduate and undergraduate courses, and attract research funding is essential. We are particularly interested in applicants with collaborative experience in multidisciplinary research involving the areas of software engineering, compilation, security, operating systems, data mining, multimedia, e-commerce, complex systems, and/or Internet technology. New Mexico Tech is a scientific and technical institute with approximately 2000 students.

The CSE Department offers B.S., M.S., and Ph.D. degrees and currently has more than 150 students. There are excellent facilities for research and teaching. Opportunities to interact with nearby institutions include: the National Radio Astronomy Observatory, Los Alamos, and Sandia National Laboratories. New Mexico Tech is located in the Rio Grande Valley with fabulous weather and endless outdoor recreational opportunities.
