The Department of Theatre and Dance at The George Washington University invites applications for the position of Assistant Professor in Costume Design and Technology (full-time, renewable contract) beginning Fall 2012.

Basic Qualifications: Applicants should have an MFAs in Design, with demonstrated expertise in costume fabrication and design for both dance and theatre. Applicants should also have demonstrated success in costume shop management.
Preferred Qualifications: Preference will be given to candidates with backgrounds in modern dance design and functional skills with electronic media.
The selected candidate will be responsible for the management of the costume shop laboratory and oversight of fabricating costumes for six productions annually (2 dance and 4 theatre), teach two design or field-related courses per semester and design a minimum of one Mainstage production each Academic Year.
