GENERAL INFORMATION: The Robert R. Taylor School of Architecture and Construction Science is located within Tuskegee University, one of the oldest and most significant Historically Black Colleges and Universities in the country. Incorporating the Tuskegee Institute National Historic Site, the campus is home to many significant works of architecture. The School invites energetic, creative candidates to apply for three positions in its Architecture and Construction Science Departments. Successful candidates will be interested in working in a holistic, cross-disciplinary program, integrating community outreach, historic preservation, sustainable design and design-build approaches. Preference will be given to those who show evidence of past research and grant submission. In addition to teaching and research, successful candidates are required to serve on committees, present clear research agendas and fully participate in the academic life of the school. Ranks will be commensurate with qualifications. 

1.) POSITION SUMMARY: In this full-time position, the successful candidate will demonstrate an ability to teach a design studio and support lecture courses that concentrate on architectural history and theory. The selected faculty member will have a strong background in architectural history and is also expected to possess professional design experience and demonstrate a proven track record of scholarly research. Preferred qualifications include: Architectural licensure, architectural practice experience and project development and funding experience. 

2.) POSITION SUMMARY: The focus of the successful candidate for this position will be to provide digital and computing support for design studios and lecture courses, to teach courses in building-industry related digital media software and presentation methods and to supervise the management of computer and printing resources of the School. In addition, the selected candidate will be responsible for developing digital integration strategies for incorporation of BIM, AutoCAD, REVIT, SketchUP and other computer-aided drafting programs into curricula. Knowledge of computer networking is preferred. Preferred qualifications include: Architectural licensure, architectural practice experience and project development and funding experience. 

3.) POSITION SUMMARY: The successful candidate will be responsible for interdisciplinary course instruction in Construction Science and Architecture and the position will entail full-time teaching responsibilities, student advising and ongoing participation in university and community service. A strong emphasis will be to strengthen the department's community design-build initiatives. In addition to scholarly research, candidates with expertise in the areas of design-build methods, building technology, environmental controls systems, sustainability, methods and materials, estimating, scheduling and/or site engineering, are encouraged to apply. Applicant must possess extensive hands-on construction experience. Preferred qualifications include: Construction licensure/certification, an ability to demonstrate knowledge of externally-funded academic research, scholarly publications and an understanding of BIM and its evolving impact on architecture and construction professionals. 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Each applicant must possess the following required qualifications: Master of Architecture, Construction Science, Design-Build, Civil Engineering or related fields; a minimum of three (3) years of teaching and/or research experience; and, full knowledge of pedagogical issues in construction science and architecture.
