Digital and Darkroom Lab Technician Department of Art and Art History University of Vermont 10 months -- August 1- May 31st (Possibility of additional summer hours, contingent upon departmental instructional needs and demands.) Start January 17th or ASAP.
Responsibilities include overseeing the operation of several art laboratories, including a 15 station digital lab equipped with several film scanners and large format printers, a photography/film/video lighting studio equipped with strobe and tungsten lights, a b&w photographic darkroom and a film/video editing space with ten computers and an animation stand. The successful candidate will be expected to maintain and repair lab and studio equipment, update software, order supplies, supervise work-study students and oversee slide library's digitization.
Qualifications: B.A., B.S. in technology or related field and one - two years of experience required. Strong interpersonal skills required. Thorough understanding of Adobe Photoshop, Epson printers and Macintosh computers is essential. Experience with Adobe In Design, Illustrator, Macromedia Flash, Final Cut Pro and Dragon Stop Motion is preferred.
