College of Engineering -- Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering 

We invite applications for a continuing (i.e., permanent) academic position in the area of electrical machines in our Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering. An appointment will be made in the range from Lecturer to Associate Professor (the equivalent range in the United States is approximately Assistant Professor to Professor), depending on the qualifications and experience of the successful candidate. 

The Department conducts world class research in excellent facilities, specialising in electric power engineering, nanotechnology, control, communications, image processing, mechatronics and computer engineering. We have 22 academic staff, 8 technical support staff, approximately 300 undergraduate students and 80 postgraduate students. The Department is also associated with the Electric Power Engineering Centre (http://www.epecentre.ac.nz/) and The MacDiarmid Institute for Advanced Materials and Nanotechnology (http://www.macdiarmid.ac.nz/). 

To be considered for this role, you will have a relevant Ph.D. degree or equivalent and proven research and/or an industrial achievement record. Duties include teaching (undergraduate and postgraduate), research, supervising research students and a contribution to the operation of the Department.
