Two postdoctoral positions are available immediately to explore the application of new controlled release formulations that mimic specific functions of the immune system. Preliminary studies will be performed in mouse models, progressing rapidly towards more advanced preclinical models. Analysis will include monitoring the effect of treatments on lymphocyte migration, expression profiles of cytokines and chemokines, and the resulting effects on tissue formation/destruction. The ideal applicant would have a basic understanding of assays such as cell culture, flow cytometery, PCR, ELISA, and immunostaining.
The successful candidate will work as part of a multidisciplinary team of bioengineers, chemical engineers, immunologists, and clinicians. S/he must have a PhD (or expect to be awarded one shortly) in a relevant discipline and will have published several high impact research articles in this area to demonstrate an ability to complete a scientific project and articulate the results. The role requires that the applicant will work efficiently in a collaborative environment, communicating on a daily basis with a multidisciplinary team of faculty and students. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are essential.
Qualified applicants should submit 1) a current CV including publications (please do not include manuscripts that have not yet been submitted); 2) a letter of interest, describing research accomplishments and future career plans; and 3) names and contact information of three references via email or else by applying online at our group webpage: http://www.littlelab.pitt.edu
Salary level will be commensurate with previous experience and within the constraints of the position. We are currently accepting applications for this immediate opening and will continue until the position is filled.
Don't forget to mention Academia.edu when applying.
