Corporate Intranets are being heralded as the next focalpoint for the information revolution attracting the interest of information providers, b2b procurement services and knowledge management solution developers.
While demand for these resources is projected to reach in excess of $37 bn by 2001 (src:Cowles/Simba), it is yet unclear how the public information and private data is to be passed between a secure environment behind the firewall and the open environment of the Internet.

The issue is not one of security alone but includes complicating factors of platform diversity and costs related to deployment of any enterprise-wide solution.

This paper examines developments in XML based publishing and the Information and Content Exchange Protocol ("ICE") as a means of passing XML objects efficiently and securely to and from corporate intranets.

This paper formalizes an approach to the Internet of Things as a socio-technical system of systems and a part of the infosphere. It introduces a principle-based, human-centered approach to designing Internet of Things artifacts as elements of contextual cross-channel ecosystems. It connects the Internet of Things to the conceptualization of cross-channel ecosystems from current information architecture theory and practice, positing that the Internet of Things is both a formal, objective superset of any given ecosystem and a contextual, subjective subset of specifically instantiated ecosystems. The paper argues for the necessity of a transdisciplinary theoretical framework to promote a human-centered generative understanding of the Internet of Things phenomena and their consequences, in accordance with the Metamodel Methodology (M3). It proposes a phenomenology-grounded information architecture model detailing a set of 16 principles and secondary heuristics grouped according to an architectural perspective, which identifies guidelines that support the design of Internet of Things artifacts considering their objective characteristics; a human perspective, which identifies guidelines that support the design of Internet of Things artifacts considering subject/object relationships and the production of meaning; and a systemic perspective, which identifies guidelines that support the design of Internet of Things artifacts as relational parts of information-based ecosystems. These principles and guidelines are meant to provide the foundations for a practice-based approach to designing the Internet of Things–enabled information ecosystems.

Sociologist Dr. Kathleen Blee (2002) identified white women as a cornerstone of the white nationalist movement. Through their use of identity classifications and web architecture , white nationalist women coded whiteness into the epistemological foundations of digitally mediated, communication systems and communities, reifying digital systems of oppression. Through my intersectional analysis, I unmasked how the " contained agency " of white feminism is perpetuated through white nationalist digital design (classifications and architecture) to illustrate how gated communities form and function.

We live in a world in which the relationship among people, places, objects and companies are shaped through semantics and not through physical proximity, where digital identities persist in cyberspace beyond our interaction with a computer screen. In this context, pervasive Information Architecture (IA) has become a post-modern theme: concepts of IA evolved or had their meaning expanded, resignified. Being pervasive, IA must be consistent to a complex ecology - comprised of applications, mobile, ubiquitous devices, websites, wearable, connected home utilities, as well as other customer touch points with transmedia narrative of brands and organizations. It outlines an enormous challenge that UX designers and information architects face in the task of rethinking their processes.

RESUMO
Vivemos em um mundo em que a relação entre pessoas, lugares, objetos e empresas são moldadas através da semântica e não mais de uma proximidade física, em que identidades digitais persistem no ciberespaço além da interação com a tela de um computador. Nesse contexto, a Arquitetura de Informação (AI) pervasiva tem se tornado um tema da pós-modernidade: os conceitos de AI evoluíram, ou tiveram seu sentido expandido, ressignificado. Sendo pervasiva, a AI deve ser consistente em uma complexa ecologia-composta de aplicativos, dispositivos móveis e ubíquos, websites, vestíveis, utilitários domésticos conectados, além de outros pontos de contato do cliente com a narrativa transmídia de marcas e organizações. Delineia-se o desafio que coloca os arquitetos de informação e os designers de UX diante da tarefa de repensar seus processos.
 
ABSTRACT

Los mapas de información, que son derivados de los mapas topológicos que ya conocemos y manejamos, nos sirven para analizar la arquitectura de la información y ser soporte de la experiencia del usuario. La principal función de cualquier mapa es representar las diferencias existentes en un espacio que por sus condiciones no podemos percibir de manera integral. Así la representación habitual en dos dimensiones facilita que sea soportada en superficies manejables, como el papel en comparación a maquetas a escala. Para el caso de los sitios Web, solamente percibimos representaciones de una estructura propuesta por el desarrollador y reconstruida por el usuario; nos encontramos entonces en una situación donde el mapa de información representa una estructura inexistente físicamente. Las características hipertextuales de los sitios Web presentan como principales desventajas para el usuario, la desorientación y la sobrecarga cognitiva 1 ; para lo cual los mapas de información pueden convertirse en navegadores gráficos que ayudados de mecanismos de búsqueda solucionan estos inconvenientes. Estas soluciones ya están en funcionamiento y resaltan cada vez más la importancia de la arquitectura de la información como medio para lograr efectividad en la comunicación. De esta manera podemos considerar que el principal objetivo del diseño del mapa es reducir el ruido visual y dar preferencia a la información importante para el usuario. Aquí es importante diferenciar que al referirnos al usuario lo hacemos pensando no solamente en quien interactúa con la interfaz, sino también en el desarrollador que hace uso de los mapas para diseñar un sitio Web. Según esto, podemos encontrar " mapas del sitio " para el usuario final; diagramas de planificación para el grupo autor; diagramas del sistema que muestran el flujo de la información y los participantes en el proceso; entre otros.

The management of the information via databases is one of the big innovations since the arrival of the computer science and telecommunications to the journalism. In this paper, we present
the results of a project which studies ways of managing information and memory in four representative cases of media in Spain and Brazil. This research uses content analysis, observation and interviews as
methodological tools and shows the importance of a correct management and recovery of the data at every stage of the journalistic process: documentation, production, recovery, circulation and consumption.

ABSTRACT

LIMA, Bruno Moreira. Contributions of the design field to the public sector's corporate online distance education: a requirements definition experience of the TRE-RJ's LMS. 2016. 374 f. Dissertação. This dissertation has as its main objective identify and evaluate some of the design resources applicable in the corporate online distance education which has the most probability of contibute with the project of the medium and didactic materials of this educational modality, in the public sector’s context and, therefore, with her effectiveness. By resources, it shall be understood the knowledge, methods, techniques, procedures, creative elements, products and instruments of the design area and related. 
With the aim above described, the work initially goes through two big sections of literature review over its main terms: “education” and “design”, which are complemented with a case study about the dissertation’s sample, the Rio de Janeiro’s Electoral Court (TRE-RJ), for the support of hypotheses. In the chapters of the first order, the concepts of education, corporate education and online distance education are analysed in its relations with the design field widely considered and relevant branchs, especially the instructional design, either in the service design or communication design form. By its turn, the chapters of the second order take as reference the two essential products of e-learning, the “learning management system” (LMS) and the “learning object” (LO), to address the communication design of these products, as well as to approach some points about the content's illustration of the corresponding educative actions, mainly through interactive animations. 
Much of the knowledge obtained in the literature and in the official documentation has been evaluated by an experiment, constituted of a focal group dedicated to the definition of the TRE-RJ’s LMS requirements, system that was about to be reformulated. In this event, some of the court’s corporate education specialists discussed about the various aspects related to the design of the quoted educative site, coming to responses that serves not only to the research’s specific universe, but also to all other stakeholders in the online distance education design that is current in the public and general administration.
Finally, the discussion about the experiment’s results, synthesized in the conclusion, confronts the discoveries of the bibliographic and documental survey with the responses obtained in the focal group, aiming to the ratification of the biggest number possible of topics among the analysed ones. With that, it is desired that the verified acquirements may serve not only to its secure and effective use in the working areas in which are applicable, but also as a foundation to future scientific research, confirming, moreover, the great relevance that the design profession has for the public administration, specially in the corporate education efforts of such professional sector.

A lo largo de los años, una gran cantidad autores han estudiado el término “Usabilidad”, como una importante tendencia de los entornos digitales del marketing moderno. Sin embargo, tendencias como UX, CX y Arquitectura de Información, han empezado a ocupar un papel relevante en la construcción de cada uno de los modelos diseñados para el relacionamiento usuario – ordenador. Por ende, el análisis de la usabilidad desde una mirada conjunta con la experiencia de usuario y la arquitectura de información, es el eje transversal de este estudio; el cual analiza de una manera puntual, a los autores, teorías y modelos desarrollados a través de los años en torno a la usabilidad, logrando al final del estudio la creación de un metaconcepto que abarca las múltiples teorías y estudios realizados en torno al tema.
Para llegar a dicho desarrollo, este estudio partirá de la respuesta a la pregunta; ¿Qué es y para qué sirve la usabilidad en las estrategias de marketing digital, desde el eje transversal de la experiencia de usuario y la arquitectura de información?, buscando con ella el cumplimiento del objetivo central el cual está enmarcado en el análisis de los estudios que han conceptualizado y utilizado la “Usabilidad” en la construcción de una teoría, sobre su significado en marketing digital.

After the birth of the Internet in the 60s, the development of intranets (university
intranets), the creation of hypertext and HTTP, as well as the proliferation of HTML, the Web
becomes a new ecosystem, that absorbing the previous connotations and opens up a range of
opportunities for the participation in society and the unprecedented access of the information.
The Network has altered the classical scheme "unidirectional transceiver", as well as the forms
of consumption and the interpersonal communication, enabling a new form of communication,
bidirectional, immediate and interconnected. However, with the expansion of the Internet, the
appearance of the web pages, the advance of the information technology, the emergence of
programming languages for the web, proliferate also a series of inconsistent products that lack a
coherent organization. As a consequence of the need for the information professionals to master
the basic elements for a coherent design, from the point of view of the content and the interface,
and above all, so that access to the Web could be universal, is necessary and essential
compliance with standards World Wide web Consortium (W3C), the body responsible for the
creation and development of the web standards. To this end, the study of the usability,
accessibility and the information architecture, tries to compile and analyze the modular elements
established by these disciplines, from a theoretical point of view, its fundamentals and basics for
the communication professionals with the aim of proposing a series of elementary steps to guide
the development and the evaluation of information products in the Web environment.

Analisa-se neste artigo o cenário da Internet das Coisas (IdC) e seus impactos para a sociedade. Identifica-se a necessidade de uma abordagem humanista e sistêmica na área de Arquitetura da Informação, baseada essencialmente em princípios, que componha um arcabouço teórico transdisciplinar para lidar com questões tecnológicas, informacionais e sociais emergentes do fenômeno da IdC
